Luther Latin School Classical Education. Zero Tuition. Luther Latin School believes that a child’s education is the primary responsibility of the parent.

Our unique 2-day hybrid model provides the structure of a premier academy with the freedom of a homeschool schedule. Luther Latin School (LLS) exists to support parents in their vocation as caregivers and instructors (for grades K-12) using classical approach, in the historic Christian tradition. We meet two days each week (Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 8:30-3:30 pm). Our academic classes consist of

Spelling, Latin, Science, Art, Music, Christian & Classical Studies, History, Geography, Poetry, Literature, Drama and Games. LLS intends to guide three essential components to homeschooling families"
1) Access to, and structure of, an excellent time-tested, classical curriculum.
2) Chapel, prayer & catechesis, God’s Word strengthens our faith and we believe we receive gifts when we attend to His Word in a community of believers.
3) Neuro-development exercises for children (5-13yo), these movements are thought to strengthen the connection between hemispheres of our brain thus increasing focus. If you are looking for structure and support for your child's homeschool using time-tested material we may be great support to your family. We ask each family to contribute to the costs each school year for any of their children to attend. We ask a parents to remain onsite and volunteer to help the co-op operate smoothly. It's true, our children do listen to us and see our commitment and excitement. In the early years, we're (parents) not so sure, the.midde school years is a bit of kickback, but around then they and their skills mature. They want to learn more, and handle more rigorous material. Paul, in the video, now runs the MP online academy. I bet his mother is very proud, and happy to see her efforts still ongoing!

MEMORIAL DAY-A day to remember those who gave all for America. I came across this post from Magistra Graham and wanted to share it, as it points out the depth of Latin word meanings.

"Memorial Day brings to mind a line by Roman poet Horace, written some two millennia ago:

"Dulce et decorum est prō patriā morī. It is sweet and befitting to die on behalf of one’s homeland."

Horace himself served as a military tribune in an age when the choice was often to conquer or to be conquered. Because Latin "pro" never means simply "for," we always look for the deeper meaning in context: here, "on behalf of one's homeland" or "in defense of one's homeland" -- reminding us of the sacrifices of those honored today."

These case studies originate from our high school logic class, which employs the traditional Aristotelian logic taught by Memoria Press. The class facilitated excellent discussions not only regarding the validity of these topics but also the subject matter itself.

Penmanship is a vital component of learning to write effectively. In a world that increasingly emphasizes typing, students miss an opportunity to enhance their retention. Studies demonstrate that when we write with pencil, pen, and paper, we retain information more effectively. We also exhibit better connectedness and fluidity when writing in cursive.

Another incredible Spring Program! Here is just a glimpse of the year's outstanding accomplishments. Elementary students proudly showcased their Nature journals, writing samples, art, Astronomy cubes, and penmanship notebooks. Middle schoolers presented impressive art, lab books and writing notebooks. High schoolers created remarkable posters of their favorite biology experiments, logic case studies and art work. The crowning glory was their phenomenal performances, inspiring Recitations, engaging skits and beautiful singing in Latin, German and English.

These students are studying the history of Renaissance and Reformation . Honestly, it is amazing how in depth their conversations are. If they discuss a failure the lead always asks, how would you have fixed it?
The competition was so intense (but in a fun friendly way) they held their up.

Since parents are our teachers, homeschoolers might also say "Happy Parent Appreciation Day". There are few higher or harder callings that require the kind of years of persistence and patience as homeschooling does. Thank you to our parents who take this call seriously!
