The Meaning: It honors the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son Ismail (Ishmael) out of obedience to God, before God provided a ram to sacrifice instead.
It was not Ismael that God told Abraham to sacrifice IT WAS ISAAC!
