WHAT WE BELIEVE

City Church is a Bible-believing church that believes in the following doctrine…

*The Bible is the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God, without error in the original languages.
*The one true God manifests Himself in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
*We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His taking the

punishment for our sins on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His complete conquest over the powers of Satan, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His imminent return in like manner as He went away.
*The Church consists of all who truly believe in Jesus Christ and in His atoning death and trust in Him as their personal Lord and Savior. We believe that Christ’s death on the cross brings forgiveness of sins for those who receive it by faith.
*We believe that healing is provided for our spirit, soul and body because of what Christ has done for us.
*We believe that Christians have the Holy Spirit living inside of them enabling them to live Godly lives.
*We believe that all the gifts of the Holy Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12 are available and for use in the body of Christ.
*We believe in Water Baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We also take part in receiving of Holy Communion.
*We believe in the resurrection of every human being; those who truly believe in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior enter eternal life with God. While those who have not accepted Jesus enter into eternal punishment.
*We believe in the traditional Biblical viewpoint that marriage is a union between a man and a woman only, and that sexual union should only take place within the context of the marriage relationship.

We were so honored to minister the love of Jesus and serve the wonderful people in Nepal, alongside our brother in Christ, Pastor Rabindra.

The smiles and joy of the children in the church was contagious as we had a blast teaching them and worshipping with them. Brother Rick Grooters did a phenomenal job teaching the story of David, and how God looks at our hearts. Pastor David, from Sri Lanka, taught them some new worship songs, which they say with great energy.

Pastor Rabindra took us into the mountains to a very small village, where we meet the most welcoming, sincere and loving Brothers and sisters in Christ. We had an amazing time worshipping together, even though we did not know the language. It was an honor to preach alongside our translator, Pastor Pawan, one of the funniest and lively men I have ever met.

Pray for Pastor Rabindra and his wonderful family as they minister to so many churches and believers across the region. Grateful to meet and see all the people that our church body has blessed with so many blankets, bags of rice and water wells. The love of our church for those around the world is a powerful and mighty work of God. All praise to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We can’t wait to come home and share the love of the church family here in Nepal, for all of you back home.

We are so excited for our first ever YOUTH TAKEOVER! 💙🤍

On Sunday, August 23rd, our youth group will be running our regular service! You’ll see our youth greeting, helping in the parking lot, in the production booth, at the connect desk- youth will be serving everywhere! Missions Update:

God is good all the time.

Our Sri Lanka team has spent the last week supporting the Smyrna Church team and their VBS that was attended by 400+ local children.

The team at Smyrna Church are true kingdom minded servants and a blessing to work along side.

Jesus was shared.
Friendships were forged.
Memories were made.

We can’t wait to share more upon return home.

Today, the team left Nuwara Eliya and started on their next journey.

This morning (around midnight MI time) the team started their trek down the mountain and toward their next locations. The “big“ team is headed back to the US and expected back around 4:45pm on Sunday. Pastor Dan, Pastor David and Rick are off to Nepal and India to continue to love on children and be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Please keep both teams in your prayers. Pray for safe travels for all and that they will continue to blessings to all they meet and that the seeds planted drop upon fertile soil.

Missions Update!

The Sri Lanka mission team landed safely in Colombo on Saturday morning after 30 hours of travel and then continued an additional 6 hours into the mountains to Smyrna Church in Nuwara Eliya.

We spent our first days here settling in and adjusting to the time change (+9.5 hours) and cultural nuances as well as beginning to prepare to help host VBS.

VBS officially kicked off today with 375 kids in attendance and it has been nothing short of a blessing both to the children and volunteers. It’s safe to say the week will be life changing.

In addition to supporting VBS, various members of the team have been able to travel into the village with Pastor David to meet to worship with and pray for families in their homes.

Thank you to our gracious hosts at Smyrna Bible Church (Pastor David and Ruby) and to all of you back home who have supported (and continue to do so) both financially and in prayer.

God has been nothing short of amazing and his work is visible at every turn.
