Today, the day before Ash Wednesday, we present to you Romans 7:15-25, where Paul gives us a raw and honest look at the struggle we all can relate to—frustration over sin, the desire to do good, and the inability to escape human brokenness.

But even amidst this battle, Paul doesn’t leave us lost in despair. Thanks be to God! For instead, he points us to Christ, our Deliverer, the One who rescues us from this body that is subject to death. Although we walk in great, thick darkness, Christ continues to illuminate our lives with his all-consuming love. Thanks be to God!

Enjoy reading this update from one of the missionaries we support in Cameroon, Tim from the Lutheran Bible Translators:

Today Erin and I got to join Martin and Joan Weber at the dedication of the Nouveau Testament en Mbum Pana.

It was a beautiful occasion in which the Church celebrated the inclusion of yet one more language group into the clarity of the Gospel. I enjoyed the speeches, the admonitions to read and inwardly digest God’s word, the singing, and the cultural dancing.

But what moved me the most was watching those around me, as each received a copy of the scriptures, lose themselves from the busyness of the moment and start to read the Bible in their language for the first time.

What kind of conversation are these people having? Find out on Sunday as we begin "The Reason for God" discussion. This curriculum leads us through some of the most common objections to Christianity and how to find answers. This first week zeros in on two questions: "Isn't the Bible a myth?" and "Hasn't Science Disproved Christianity?"
