The Church was never called to imitate the culture.

It was called to reveal Christ.

Not to echo the world's values.

Not to mirror its priorities.

Not to blend in so well that nobody can tell the difference.

Billy Graham warned:

"The church is in turmoil today. The church is not to reflect the world but to be a portrait of Jesus Christ."

The question is not whether the culture approves of us.

The question is whether Christ is visible in us.

A church can be crowded and still be compromised.

Popular and still powerless.

Successful and still unlike Jesus.

The world does not need a better reflection of itself.

It needs to see Christ.

If someone watched your life for a week, what would they see more of:

The spirit of the age...

or the Spirit of Christ?
