This Sunday is a special one in the life of Sonoma Collective.

We’ll be celebrating our first-ever commissioning ceremony as we identify, affirm, and pray over the deacons and elders God has called to serve and lead our church family.

And while we gather, Collective Kids will have their own fun morning at the movies—pajamas, treats, and a great team caring for them.

After service, we’ll celebrate family-style with all-you-can-eat tacos. Bring a friend, bring the whole family, and come be part of this meaningful moment together.

We don’t want you to miss it.

Feeding widows was not separate from the gospel being preached. It was the gospel being preached—but with hands instead of mouths.

150 years in, Romans watched and said ‘see how they love one another.’ 300 years in, an emperor wrote a complaint letter because he couldn’t replicate it.

The question worth sitting with: what is the watching world saying about us?

This Sunday in Collective Kids, we’re starting a new series: Be Like Jesus.

Together, our kids will explore how God’s Spirit helps us grow to look more like Jesus—not by trying harder on our own, but by learning to walk with Him and let His fruit grow in us.

We’ll be talking about love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—and how those things begin to take shape in our everyday lives.

We’re excited for this journey with your kids and can’t wait to see them this Sunday!

Still celebrating Sunday. 🤍

What a gift to witness baptisms together and celebrate people in our community taking their next step with Jesus.

We’re grateful for the stories God is writing, for the joy of walking together, and for every person who gathered to cheer, pray, and celebrate.

The church didn’t start with a strategy or a vision statement. It started with 120 frightened people in a room waiting for something they couldn’t describe. What showed up changed everything—and here’s the part that should stop you: it never left. The same Spirit who birthed the church then is the one gathering people now. Pentecost isn’t history. You’re standing inside it.

What if the qualifications for church leadership have almost nothing to do with credentials and almost everything to do with character?

Paul lists them in First Timothy. They read less like a job description and more like a portrait of someone who has actually been shaped by Jesus. No titles. No org charts. Just the kind of person who gets low.

Paul wrote about victory from a prison cell. That’s not contradiction—that’s the whole point. We are not fighting for victory. We are fighting from it. The decisive battle has already been fought and Jesus already won it. You don’t need to earn your way back onto the battlefield. You just need to wake up and realize you never left it.
