New Canaan Baptist Church

New Canaan Baptist Church New Canaan is a growing church committed to serving God by meeting the needs of those in our community in addition to those who join us for worship.

New Canaan Baptist's Schedule:
Sunday, 9:45 am: Sunday school for all ages
Sunday, 11:00 am: Worship
Wednesday. 6:30 pm: Bible Study for all ages

We have been ministering to people in the heart of Brindlee Mountain from the horse-and-buggy days of 1884 to the space-age today. We desire to be relevant to the times, but we will always be anchored to the rock of Jesus Christ! Located at the center o

f the Union Hill community across from the school, we believe that you will find New Canaan intimate enough to know you by name and expansive enough to meet your needs. We invite you to visit our website http://newcanaan.org and learn more about us. Then, we hope you'll come by to worship and study the Bible with us. Come comfortably just as you are; dresses, suits, and ties not required! Pastor: Robert Cruise
Youth Leader: Josh Smothers
Children's Leader: Cory Brown
Music Leader: Kristy Oldacre

Today we recognize Tristan Haggard and the incredible accomplishments he has already achieved at just 15 years old.

Through homeschooling, Tristan completed his high school education while maintaining a 3.0 GPA. This November, shortly after turning 16, he will begin attending Nashville Auto-Diesel College to study Heavy Duty Diesel and Machinery.

He plans to pursue a career as a diesel mechanic and hopes to one day own his own business.

Tristan shared that one of his favorite memories with NCBC Youth is the annual New Year’s beach trip, where he has built lasting friendships, made unforgettable memories, and grown deeper in his relationship with God.

As a proud military brat and twin, Matthew has experienced many unique opportunities that have helped shape his character and future goals.

He plans to attend the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering.

Matthew shared that his favorite memory at NCBC was the 2025 Winter Trip, where he was able to step out of his comfort zone, boldly share his faith, grow closer to his church family, and deepen his relationship with Christ.

During her time at BHS, Braelynn served as a Student Ambassador, was a member of Senior Girls Society (SGS), and represented her school as a SkillsUSA Chapter Representative.

She plans to attend Shoals Hair Co. Academy this fall and hopes to one day own her own hair salon.

Braelynn’s favorite memory with the youth group was the 2024 Lake Allatoona trip, especially competing to see who could catch the most frogs — and according to her, “I won obviously.”
