Here is today's message for 8/16/26.
Anger is a God-given emotion, but without safeguards, it can easily lead us down a destructive path. In a powerful sermon titled "The Foolishness Of Anger," Pastor Alan Stewart breaks down what God’s Word (Ephesians 4:22-32) teaches us about understanding, identifying, and overcoming anger:
* The Potential for Anger: Anger itself isn't inherently sinful—Jesus felt righteous anger (Mark 3:5). However, left unchecked, it gives the enemy a foothold in our lives (Ephesians 4:26-27).
* The Prompting to Anger: Our triggers often run deep, stemming from stress, childhood trauma, heavy grief, unresolved conflict, unmet expectations, or low self-esteem.
* The Profile of Anger: Anger reveals itself in subtle, damaging ways—including stubbornness, hyper-criticism, envy, an argumentative spirit, rudeness, and an unforgiving heart.
* The Protection from Anger: God provides a pathway to freedom! Protect your heart by owning your anger, dealing with conflict quickly, thinking before speaking, ignoring petty offenses (Proverbs 19:11), choosing wise companions, and choosing non-negotiable forgiveness (Colossians 3:13).
Are you letting anger control your life, or are you bringing it under the grace and truth of Christ?
