St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ferney South Dakota celebrated 125 years of the Lord's ministry this last weekend! Rev. Moeller along with the congregation welcomed former pastors, Rev. Dwaine Doremus (1990-1996) and Rev. Lloyd Redhage (1997-2023), as well as SD District President Randy Sturzenbecher.
I was a wonderful time of worship, fellowship, and reflecting on what the Lord has done at St Paul's.
Congratulations!

When a congregation enters a vacancy after the shepherd God has called to serve them is led to a new ministry, it can be both a challenging and uncertain time. In this article, President Sturzenbecher encourages congregations to view a vacancy as an opportunity for faithful reflection, prayer, and preparation.

He reminds us that God already knows who your next pastor will be. As congregations await the Lord’s provision, they can look forward to the day when pastor and people together ask, “How can we faithfully serve so that more people may hear the hope and promises we have in Jesus Christ?”

What a joy to have over 140 women from South Dakota gather together in Rapid City for the SD District LWML convention. They gathered food for the food bank and Cornerstone Mission, prepared supplies to be used at Evergreen Lutheran at Pine Ridge, helped with LCMS Puppet Place ministry, fellowship and most importantly came together in worship and Bible study.

The initial round of voting in the election for President of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod was not conclusive, and a runoff will be required.

• Matthew Harrison – 2,050 (43.8%)
• Joel Biermann – 1,822 (39.0%)
• Benjamin Ball – 371 (7.9%)
• Brady Finnern – 321 (6.9%)
• Peter Lange – 112 (2.4%)

Approximately 85% of registered voters participated in the first round, meaning that nearly 800 eligible voters across the Synod did not cast a ballot. Your congregation's vote matters, and we encourage all South Dakota District congregations to cast their pastoral and lay votes in the upcoming round of voting.

The second round of voting will take place June 13–16. If additional rounds are necessary, they will follow the same pattern. Registered voters will use the same voting credentials as before. Instructions and access information will again be provided by email when voting opens.
