For those of you who don’t know the Utecht family is now in its 4th generation of family members telling the Gospel story of Jesus at the Puppet Place at the South Dakota State Fair. What a great message about shoes and soles (souls) and walking with God. The SD LWML also helps every year pointing all ages to come and hear the Good News of Jesus. Thanks be to God for this long standing ministry and all the hands that help!

What a joy to preach at Zion Lutheran, Hurley, last Sunday, and the pot-luck did not disappoint! Zion’s building is the former Trinity, Heilbronn building. Trinity was the first LCMS congregation in South Dakota. Trinity was organized in 1876 with the name “Die Ev. Lut. Dreienigkeitsgemeinde (Trinity or Three-in- oneness, congregation) UAC Unaltered Augsburg Confession.

Another great Sunday visit to our District churches. The sun greeted me as I drove to St John, Columbia for Worship. What a beautiful church with wonderful stained glass telling the story of salvation. Then off to Our Savior, Aberdeen. What a warm welcome in both churches. Did you know the District was gifted some land east of Columbia? The rent from that land supports our student grants for church workers. The gift that keeps on giving and blessing God’s people.
