Mission: Romania! A team of seven volunteer workers spent last week in Brașov, Romania, completing renovations to the Brașov Lutheran Outreach Center in preparation for activities aimed at engaging the community in Gospel-centered outreach. This short-term mission team did yard work, painted walls and installed new flooring on two levels of the building, fixed the front gate, installed a safety gate for the basement stairs, and did some general cleaning to make the center bright and welcoming!
The mission was sponsored in part by the South Dakota District through the Mission & Ministry Council to support the work of South Dakota missionaries Rev. Jordon and Alison Andreasen and their family. Pastor Andreasen serves as an Area Facilitator in Romania and the surrounding area, focusing on planting congregations.
In addition to the work at the center, the team enjoyed worship, devotions, and fellowship with missionaries, their families, and local church leaders and members. They learned some of the history of Romania and of Christianity through the centuries there, as well as the work of LCMS International Missions in the Eurasia Region.
What a blessing to serve alongside the Andreasens for a short time as they do the Lord’s work in Romania! To God be the glory!
