Partially clothed, for now.
“For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our house which is from heaven:”
(2 Corinthians 5:2)
As believers “in” Jesus Christ, God has put the Treasure of His Holy Spirit within us and the Face of Jesus Christ shining within our hearts.
HOWEVER, we don’t YET have our resurrected bodies.
This is an amazing and miraculous thing that’s going on in the life of every true believer. Though our mortal bodies are temporary and weak and perishing, our inward person is being renewed day-by-day.
The Holy Spirit enables us to follow Christ in holiness. The way that we relate to this temporal world is meant to be much the same as the example that Jesus demonstrated when He walked the Earth.
(Hebrews 12:14) “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one shall see the Lord:”
Jesus is directly connected to the Father, and we are directly connected to Jesus. It’s the power of the Person of the Holy Spirit of God within us who enables us to be (ref. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9) “…troubled on every side, yet not distressed; perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;”
We will be freed from the pressure of striving to “be somebody” in this world, if we will Be finding our Living eternal identity in Christ. In this Relationship we are transformed by the renewing of our minds and saved from conformity to this temporal world. The cross of Jesus Christ is where we are meant to go each day. That’s where the experiential life of the Holy Spirit meets us and guide us to actually walk with Jesus; BUT we must always keep in mind that (ref. 2 Corinthians 4:7) this Treasure of the Life of Christ within us is happening WHILE we are still in our weak and temporary earthly bodies.
If we are honest and truthful and genuine, this will be very humbling and will keep us coming to the cross each day in a living way.
This Spirit-led life is what the Word through the apostle is trying to get us to see, as He says, (ref. 2 Corinthians 4:10-11) “Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, THAT the Life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we who Live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, THAT the Life also of Jesus may be made manifest in our mortal flesh.”
None of us are able to live the Christian life in and of ourselves; but if we are willing, Jesus Christ will live in and through us.
Be Blessed, today, and Be a Blessing…
