The Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury

The Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury We are an inclusive, Christian community led by the Holy Spirit. We have no agenda other than to bring the love of Christ to the world

We are everyday people yearning for the Word, whether liberal, conservative, moderate or just hanging on for dear life.

In response to the needs of the people, Christ grants authority to his disciples to help with the work of mercy and compassion. What's the scope of that authority? What are we authorized to do in Christ's name? What's not ours to do? What about people who claim authority that is not granted them and misuse it? Join us as we dig through Matthew 9 for answers next Sunday.

The Chancel Choir will be singing this Sunday.

We invite and welcome you to join us!
Worship Services are Sundays at 10am.

We invite you to join us on June 7th for Confirmation Sunday.
Two of our youth will be professing their faith and confirming their baptismal identity as Christians. They have thoughtful and moving words to share about their faith journeys. It's always a hopeful and uplifting experience to hear those testimonies from our youth.

We look forward to youth leadership from our Sunday School class as well.

There will be Communion, special music, and recognition of our faithful members who make our children & youth ministry possible.

Join us for worship Sundays at 10am, in our Sanctuary, or via Zoom.

We are excited to welcome the Rev. Nicholas Van Gombos to our pulpit on May 31st!
Rev. Nick and his wife Franny have been worshiping with us, mostly on Zoom. He is recently honorably retired from ministry. They are residing in Red Bank, and very much enjoying time with their family now, especially grandchildren.
We are looking forward to hearing a new voice and new perspective from the pulpit from a wise and seasoned pastor on Trinity Sunday.

Our worship services are Sundays at 10am in our Sanctuary, and online via Zoom.

Join us as we celebrate Pentecost Sunday on May 24th!

The Holy Spirit is poured out on the faithful from all nations, sending the Gospel into all corners of the world.

We celebrate what the Spirit of the Lord has inspired among us and will continue to do to make God's love visible.

We invite you to wear red, the liturgical color representing the Holy Spirit, and be prepared to help make tongues of fire dance and doves fly!

Our Sunday Service is at 10am in our Sanctuary, or online via Zoom.
We joyfully invite you to join us in worship!

We enjoyed a fabulous evening of singing God's praises!
Thanks to John, Jake, Mike, Stephanie, Barbara, and Marcello for the wonderful music!

Pastor Katja shared this thought from Rev. Dr. Howard Thurman: "The one thing they [fear and anxiety] cannot abide is conscious exposure to the Love of God."

We were grateful for tonight's opportunity to sing and pray and welcome the perfect love of God that casts out all fear.

We celebrate the Ascension of the Lord next Sunday!

It feels kind of like a graduation, which is appropriate in this graduation season. Two angels appear and give a little graduation speech to the disciples as their time of daily instruction from Jesus comes to a close. He departs, and they turn towards figuring out what to do with all they have learned. We focus on the angel's words this Sunday as they guide us onward in faith and in life.

Special Music this week by the Bell Choir.

Our Sunday Service is at 10am in our Sanctuary, or online via Zoom.

Does God sometimes seem unknowable? The Apostle Paul makes his most famous speech in Acts 17 after discovering a monument "to an unknown god" in Athens. He points to all that is revealed of God in Christ. Faith doesn't have to be such a mystery! How can we turn that "unknown" into a "known"?

The Chancel Choir is singing this Sunday in worship.

We wish a happy Mother's Day to all who plan to celebrate this Sunday! We welcome your family members who may be joining us as guests in worship.

Join us in worship on May 3rd as we celebrate the Sacrament of Communion and as Pastor Katja invites us into exploring Gospel and Epistle lessons about who we are in Christ. There are incredibly diverse ways we can identify ourselves. What does it mean to find our identity in Christ?

Worship services are Sundays at 10am. We welcome you!
