Join us in worship on September 6th at 10am!

We welcome the Rev. Dr. Eileen Lindner to the pulpit as our guest preacher this Sunday. Rev. Lindner, honorably retired, brings faith insight from a career that included work in global and missional Christianity as well as preaching and pastoral ministry. Come and be inspired and challenged by her message.

We can't wait to kick off a new program year for our children, youth & parents with special events on September 13th! We always welcome new families. It's a great opportunity to meet our Director of Children & Youth Ministry and team and see what our Children & Youth Ministry is all about.

A brand new mural will welcome our families back. There will be a ribbon cutting and breakfast for students and parents at 9:15am on 9/13.

Kids are invited to bring their backpacks. At 10am in worship, kids will receive a back-to-school blessing, and a small gift to remind them of God's love. Then they will be dismissed to Sunday School for the first lesson of the new year.

We are collecting soap (preferably unscented), crayon boxes, and coloring books for upper elementary kids (looks for ones with more detailed drawings and themes that would connected with 4th-6th graders).

These will go into Christmas care packages with other necessities and gifts for children in those grades in particular schools in the Dominican Republic.

We've been following the Apostle Peter's story a bit this summer. He's been a sinking stone, a cornerstone, and this week, a stumbling stone. As Peter figures out what kind of Rock he is called by Jesus to be, we get to join him in that quest.

There's a nursery rhyme that goes "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me."
It's not true, of course, but we have to equip children to be resilient in the face of harmful words. Resilience isn't enough. Christ teaches us to change our speech, and fill our relationships and communities with God's love, compassion, forgiveness with the words we choose to speak.

Join us next Sunday for worship at 10am as we choose words of praise, prayer, encouragement, forgiveness, love, and joy.
