Blessed Feast of the Ascension of the Lord!

"It is not expedient to search out the times and the seasons, but it is essential to continually search out our heart so as to purify it, and not allow anything foreign to enter into this place which belongs above all to God. Then, we will be vouchsafed to stand and meet the humble and meek gaze of the Almighty Jesus. The Day of the Lord must come as a surprise, because in this way our heart will be tried as in a furnace. Then it shall be revealed, who are those souls possessed of a genuine love, stronger than the death that encompasses them; those whose hearts are awake while they sleep and who, like the wise virgins, have enough oil and keep the lamp of their souls burning with unquenchable fire under any circumstance."
