We have SO much joy to share today!
The Orthodox Christian Deaf Association is beyond excited to announce our new partnership with Ancient Faith Kids!
If you're not familiar with Ancient Faith Kids, they're the children's media ministry of Ancient Faith Ministries, creating beloved video series like "The Night Star" and "Orthodox Pebbles," along with activity books and daily scripture content, all designed to teach Orthodox Christian children about the Saints, the feasts, prayer, fasting, and the Gospels in ways kids can really connect with.
Now we get to help make that content accessible to even more children!
Picture-in-picture ASL interpretation is coming to "Orthodox Pebbles"! You'll see an interpreter signing right in the corner of the screen, so Deaf and hard-of-hearing kids can follow every word of the story.
Ancient Faith Kids has also been hard at work correcting the captions on their YouTube videos, so important Orthodox vocabulary shows up correctly on screen for Deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers.
And we're celebrating the recent premiere of "Come and Sign with Deacon Tigran" — a new ASL series teaching Orthodox Christian sayings and terms in sign language, so kids can learn the vocabulary of our faith in their own language!
This collaboration doesn’t end with Deaf Awareness Month—it’s just the beginning! We’re excited to continue working together to make Orthodox Christian content more accessible.
We are so grateful for our friends at Ancient Faith Kids, and for the grant from the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania that's helping make all of this possible.
We are so thankful for this opportunity to serve our community together.
