Seattle friends! The sap is rising on Friday, March 27th...The official My Sap is Rising book launch is blooming! There will be a presentation with selected readings from the book, a panel discussion with the author, illustrator, and publisher, and a book signing. We will close our celebration with a beautiful Compline Prayer Service featuring the St. Mark’s Women’s Compline Choir singing selections of Hildegard of Bingen’s music and the author officiating the service. It is going to be a remarkable evening–full of viriditas!

On International Women's Day, learn more about these two remarkable humans: and .

Hildegard was a 12th century revolutionary German Benedictine nun who saw visions, was a composer, advisor to clergy and royalty, developed her own language, and is considered the first gynecologist in Germany because of her writings on the female body.

Alfred Adler was an Austrian born in 1870 and founded Individual Psychology (which is the main theory I practice in). From my book : "Adler lectured all over the world throughout his professional life and was one of the first in psychology to support feminism. He addressed the myth of masculine superiority and woman's alleged inferiority, arguing that social and cultural norms rather than biology were at the root of gender differences" (19).
