You’re welcome here. No pressure. No pretending.

We want to be a community where people are truly known, cared for, and welcomed by name. If you are looking for a church, we invite you to try our Stick Six Challenge. Join us for six Sundays, get to know the people and culture, and prayerfully consider whether God is leading you to make this your church home.

If, after six weeks, you believe God is leading you somewhere else, we will gladly recommend other faithful Christian churches in our area and help you find a place to try.

We are not trying to build our kingdom. We want to help build God’s Kingdom, even if your place in it is with another local church.

Shelby Alliance Church is updating our public photo policy.

For the foreseeable future, we will not publicly post identifiable faces of children or young people. At minimum, their faces will be blurred.

Recent court cases involving AI-generated child sexual abuse material have exposed both what is already happening and how quickly technology is outpacing existing safeguards. We love sharing the joy and life of our church, but protecting our children must come first.

Our pastor, James, has developed a free tool to help blur the faces of anyone it estimates to be under 21. Because automated detection is not perfect, every image should still be reviewed carefully.

Physical health matters, but godliness matters more.

The Bible does not say physical training has no value. It says its value is limited compared with the lasting value of godliness.

We care for our bodies so we can be ready and able to do what God calls us to do. That will look different for each person. We do not all have the same strength, health, mobility, or physical capacity, but we are all called to the same faithfulness.

The goal is not to worship our bodies or neglect them. The goal is to steward what God has given us for His purposes.

Who do you want to be more present for?

Caring for your body is not about chasing a certain appearance. It is about having the strength, energy, and capacity to show up for the people you love and the purpose God has given you.

Your physical health does not determine your value. Your body already has dignity because God made it. Caring for it is one way you can honor Him and serve others more fully.
