“Full & Equal: 50 Years in Pursuit of a Promise” was a national three-day gathering hosted by The Episcopal Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota, from September 3–5, 2026, to mark the 50th anniversary of a landmark 1976 resolution supporting LGBTQ+ inclusion.

EfM: Immersion is a welcoming and engaging introduction to Education for Ministry (EfM) for incoming seminarians at the School of Theology at the University of the South. Offered during orientation week, the experience introduces seminarians—some of whom may be encountering EfM for the first time—to the program’s rich history, its place within the School of Theology, and its longstanding commitment to theological education and formation.

But EfM: Immersion is more than an introduction—it is an invitation to experience EfM. After exploring the history and mission of the program, seminarians participate in several of the practices at the heart of EfM formation: Spiritual Autobiography, Theological Reflection, and the EfM Core Practices. Through conversation, reflection, and shared experience, seminarians discover how EfM equips people to connect Christian tradition with the realities of their daily lives and discern their ministries in the world.

EfM: Immersion celebrates the shared ministry of the School of Theology and introduces a new generation of church leaders to the transformative work of Education for Ministry.
