Service to others is an important part of a Lutheran education, and teachers and staff are always looking for opportunities for students to actively do for others, to think beyond their own personal experience. Fourth grade enjoyed helping one of the Hope Church ministries, The Welcome Table, by assembling snack bags.

The Welcome Table serves those in need of a helping hand, providing food, clothes, and encouragement in our community. Every Saturday volunteers from different churches in the area gather to share hot food and necessities. Students are welcome to assist community members with finding necessities.

When asked if she was enjoying her day, Principal Dye said with a sigh, "i don't know how how Mrs. O does it." It was a busy day filled with chapel, spirit day, phone interview with a potential teacher candidate, lunch with friends and playing with preschoolers! Whew! Two students enjoyed being Principal for a day which is an experience only available at the annual auction. Raise your paddle next year to win this top-notch experience.

PE teacher for the day was also happening today. Kindergartner Killian had four classes to teach today! Sporting his very own t-shirt, he rocked the gym!

What a great way to end the year! ❤️

*Don’t watch the video if you get a bit squirmy!*

How do muscles and bones work together? How is a chicken wing similar to a human arm and hand, and how is it different? These are some of the questions we investigated in middle school science at Hope Lutheran School during a hands-on chicken wing dissection. Using scissors and scalpels, students carefully explored the flexor and extensor muscles, as well as the ligaments that help make movement possible. This hands-on experience allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of how muscles and bones work together to create movement. It was a fantastic opportunity to combine biology with real-world applications, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm in our future scientists!

🌱 Hope School Garden Club Plant Sale 🌱

Join us on May 21st from 9 AM–4 PM for our annual Garden Club Plant Sale! Come shop a beautiful selection of plants grown and cared for by our student gardeners in grades 2–8.

Every purchase helps fund hands-on learning—teaching gardening techniques, sustainability, and environmental stewardship. Proceeds will also support the purchase of a transportable gardening container, expanding opportunities for our young gardeners to grow and learn in new spaces.

Support our students, grow your garden, and be part of something meaningful! 🌿

Who doesn't love cookies! Cooking class turned into baking class as students made three different kinds of cookies: brownies, chocolate chip, and cranberry-orange drop cookies. Measuring and teamwork is the name of the game. And then taste-testing. This week students start to learn how to meal plan with a budget including a trip to the grocery store, and then prepare it as head chef. Stay tuned!
