Scott City Breadbasket is celebrating its 40th anniversary today!
The Scott City Ministerial Alliance created this food pantry to serve individuals and families in our community who truly need help. Providing food during times of crisis does more than meet a physical need—it brings hope.
On average, we distribute 25–30 breadbaskets each month. Each basket costs approximately $200–$300, depending on family size, and is designed to provide meals for about two weeks. Our mission is to support those facing difficult circumstances who cannot afford food.
Over the past 40 years, we have helped more than 12,000 people at different times of need.
Our thrift store plays a vital role in sustaining the Breadbasket ministry—thank you for being part of this movement of hope!
Today, we celebrate with our incredible past and present volunteers and board members. Tomorrow (Friday), we invite the entire community to join us for a sack sale on everything!
Thank you for your continued support—we hope to see you there!

CHURCH SPOTLIGHT

Easter is more than just a day. Faith depends on Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. Scripture teaches, “And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. … But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.” (1 Cor 15:17, 20, ESV). As a testimony to this and the hope that we have in the resurrection, Holy Cross is celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ for 7 weeks.

Join us as we consider the importance of the resurrection in Bible Study each Sunday at 9:00A.M. and as we receive our risen Lord’s gifts of forgiveness, salvation, and faith in the Divine Service at 10:15 A.M. Alleluia! Christ is Risen!

The strife is o’er, the battle done;

Now is the victor’s triumph won;

Now be the song of praise began.

Alleluia!
