This week Pastor Donnie wrapped up his “Rooted” sermon series. The whole series in one picture looks like this: Deep roots, properly nourished, will produce Godly fruit, and that fruit feeds the next generation.
Be anchored in God in a way that holds when the storms come. Get nourishment from God’s Word, prayer, community, and consistently drawing from the “Source”, the Holy Spirit. Stay grounded, and build a home on a foundation that doesn’t shift. Families and congregations, share God’s Word with all children and grandchildren, and keep God as the top priority in your families. By remaining rooted and nourished by the Word, we will become fruitful, leaving a legacy that will be for not only our own generation, but for other generations we will never meet. The fruit of the Spirit is the most powerful legacy you can leave. (Galatians 5) The whole community of faith has a collective calling to pass the beautiful story of salvation on to children, yet to be born. (Psalm 78) Your legacy starts today!

Three commitments we made today as a congregation:
1. We will abide. Daily, intentionally remaining in Christ. In His word, in prayer, in community, and in obedience; staying connected to the vine.
2. We will live intentionally for the next generation. Making decisions today that the people who come after us will benefit from.
3. We will play our part in the collective legacy of God’s church. Showing up. Telling God’s Gospel story, and being part of a community committed to passing the faith on.

Do your part, no matter where you are, to glorify God who has planted you right where He has, for such a time as this.

“When the Lord speaks to you, don’t wait and put off for tomorrow, what He’s asking you to do today.” -Rev. Larry Rouse

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me, ye can do nothing.” -Jesus Christ (John 15:5)

God Bless you and your family!
