First Baptist Church of Schenevus FBC Schenevus holds to the fundamentals of faith as expressed in the Scriptures, preaching the whole counsel of God to a world in need of the grace of God.

First Baptist Church of Schenevus was first organized in 1871 and has been continually conducting worship services since its inception. The church was founded upon the doctrine contained in the New Hampshire Confession of Faith of 1833 and remains faithful to its doctrinal heritage. -be shown how to make corrections for our good and His glory,
-be trained in righteousness and enjoy all the blessings that righteousness produces,
-equipped, made competent, having been thoroughly equipped for every good work!
We will experience our Lord’s richest blessings and enjoy super-abundant life in every situation!
Do not settle for anything else!
Reading for quantity will leave you dry spiritually and unfilled!

JUST BECAUSE IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE!

Just because it doesn't make sense to you doesn't mean it doesn't make sense.

Noah had never seen rain, but he trusted the Lord and did what he was told!
The strategy for walking across the Red Sea did not make sense but Moses did what the Lord told him to do!
There are many other examples in the Word of God! A lot of things happen in our lives and to people that we love that does not make sense, but the Lord has a perfect plan and all He wants us to trust Him because we love Him and know that it is impossible for Him to make a mistake! When we do so, we show our love for Him to others and that we trust Him completely with all the details of our lives! As we do so, He will flood our lives with His perfect peace, the fulness of His joy and His empowerment to serve Him and the ability to produce super-abundant fruit for His glory!
He gives His richest blessings to His children who love and trust Him, even when things do not make sense!
Like Noah, may it be said that we trust the Lord even when we do not understand what is happening!

A STATEGY!

There are many born-again believers who seemingly do all the right things regarding behavior, but Satan has them trapped from enjoying the Lord’s perfect peace, fulness of joy, His richest blessings, and producing super-abundant fruit for His glory through busyness! They are too busy…
-to spend time with their spouse to enjoy a marriage blessed by the Lord!
-to spend time with their family to build one that glorifies Him!
-to develop a close, intimate walk with Him!
-to serve the Lord with fellow believers in their church ministries!
-to spend time helping fellow believers on their walk with the Lord!
-to spend time in sharing the gospel with lost people!
-to spend time attending church faithfully!
-to listen to and give godly counsel to those who need it!
-to use their finances, possessions, talents, spiritual gifts for the Lord’s glory!
Etc.
Surrender daily to His Lordship so that you are never too busy to do His will in all the areas of your life!
If you are not one of His, come to the Lord Jesus NOW!

UNLOCKING THE DOOR!

The prayer offered to God in the morning during your quiet time is the key that unlocks the door of the day. Any athlete knows that it is the start that ensures a good finish.

If you work the night shift, you begin your day at a different time but we all need to open each day by spending time to talking with our Lord and Savior, Jesus, opening the doors of our lives with fellowship with Him for His wisdom, and empowerment! What a difference it will make if we open the following doors that way each day!
-The door of our marriages!
-The door of our family living!
-The door of our careers!
-The door of our church ministries!
-The door of our relationship with fellow believers!
-The door of our sharing the gospel with lost people!
-The door of using our finances, possessions, talents and spiritual gifts for His glory!
Etc.
Let’s imitate our Lord and Savior!
If you are not trusting Him and Him alone to be your Lord and Savior, come to the Lord Jesus NOW!

THE RELUCTANCY TO PRAY!

If you find a reluctancy to go into the presence of God, there may be unconfessed, unrepented sin in your life. Part of your quiet time is to get your heart clean and pure. Each of us needs to take ourselves by the nap of our necks and confess and repent before we come into God's holy presence to fellowship.

Many born-again believers are reluctant to talk to the Lord because they unconfessed sin in their lives or they are regarding it in their heart even though they have not done it! What about you?
-Are you doing things you know He doesn’t want you to do?
-Do you have a wrong attitude toward your spouse?
-Do you have the wrong attitude toward a family member?
-Do you have the wrong attitude toward your employer?
-Do you have a wrong attitude toward a fellow church member, or leader in your church?
-Do you have a selfish attitude or generosity regarding your finances and possessions?
-Do you possess an attitude of jealousy and envy?
These and many other attitudes and types of behavior contrary to the Lord’s character and will, will keep you from wanting to talk to Him and hinder your fellowship with Him! Don’t let anything come between you and Him!
If you do not belong to the Lord Jesus, come to Him NOW!

A QUESTION!

Therefore, we should daily surrender to His Lordship and let Him empower us to be the spouses, He wants to be, to be the parents He wants us to be, to be the employees / employers, pastors, missionaries, or be whatever he calls us to do! If we don’t do His will in every area of our life, He knows that too! He knows everything!

NO FRUIT FACTORY!

The Bible says the fruit of the spirit is longsuffering. I'll tell you one thing about fruit: you will never see a fruit factory. Isn't that right? You see a shirt factory, but you see a fruit orchard. You see, there is no fruit without life. You cannot manufacture patience. The fruit of the Spirit is patience.

Patience is an absolute necessity for born-again believers to live a life that is pleasing to their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and to glorify Him in every area of their lives! When we submit to the Lordship of Christ and, therefore, to the control of the Holy Spirit, we will manifest our Lord’s patience in…
-our marriages,
-our family relationships,
-our interactions and dealings with members of our church family,
-our relationship with our superiors and co-workers,
-our relationships with those who do not know Christ as their Lord and Savior and whom we want to reach with the gospel,
-our dealings with our enemies,
Etc.
