Tuesday Devotional

Isn’t life weird sometimes; we think we are supposed to be in a specific place but then God puts on the brakes and says trust me, I have a new plan. As I have witnessed many times in my own life, there have been times where I am on a path and then God stops walking me one way and makes a new way for me to follow Him. Isn’t it really cool how God works? In the book of Isaiah in chapter 55: 8-9 it states” “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.Wow Gods word is so good! Gods’ way and thoughts are so huge! God is so amazing and true to who He is! If you are on a path and then God puts on the brakes know that God is still there and seek Him in prayer, and be in the word of God. If God is taking you on a new path, He is still growing you and using you on that new path and that’s a blessing. It might be a new job, a new ministry, a new career, whatever it may be, God’s ways are always good! Psalms 23 writes that The Lord guides us along the right path for His namesake. Follow Him and Trust Him!

Tuesday Devotional

"I am the Lord, I cannot change" - Malachi 3:6
God never changes! I am thankful that God is the same yesterday, today and forever. For me personally, I am thankful that I know that God never changes because no matter the circumstances, God remains the same. In the world today, there is a lot of confusion on who God is. People are trying to fill the void in their hearts. That void can only be filled with Jesus Christ. History has shown us that God has always stayed the same and His love never fails. He loved us so much that He came into this world in a lowly manger, He hung on the cross to cover our sins, and He rose again to show that we will live with Him for all eternity. Praise God that we are a believer because we have something we can depend on. If you make the word of God the final authority in your life, it will give you stability. What does it mean to make Gods word the final authority? It means believing what God says about every circumstance, not what the world says. Every day we need to make a commitment to ourselves to look to, and depend on, the authority of God’s Word.

Tuesday Devotional
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armor of God,so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”

Many of us are familiar with Ephesians 6:10-12. It is a powerful reminder to me in my life right now. We serve the God of hope who arms us with His armor so that we can stand in Him! We may see turmoil on the news, family members who are not saved, or people in our community who are walking without God. We as Christians, as children of God, need to remind each other and be reminded that we can take our stand and pray to our Father in heaven about all things. In Him, we have an everlasting hope and a strength that can only come from Him. The enemy is out to devour us and out to destroy Gods plan for our lives but his plan’s and workings for division and chaos fail at the feet of Jesus Christ! We need to stand firm on the word of God, remember He is the God of peace and take our stand on the solid ground of Jesus Christ, who is our true and everlasting hope.

Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Psalm 139:23

It is in the books of Psalms where you find this beautiful Psalm and prayer. During the storms and the unknown, trusting in God can be difficult especially when things aren’t the way we want or see it. Praying a prayer similar to Psalms 139 can help us focus on God and not ourselves. It is God alone that leads us into the perfect will which He has for us. During these times, it’s important to slow down and focus on the word. Ask yourself what does God want me to slow down from? What is something in my life that God wants to teach me? For myself I desire for God to show me what I need to do to repent and turn away from my own self .

A.W. Tozer says, “God never hurries. There are no deadlines against which he must work. Only to know this is to quiet our spirits and relax our nerves.”

We can’t let another day go by not being in the presence of God. Whatever your specific battle is, let God’s word speak to your heart today and bring you healing and courage.
