📚 WELCOME BACK TO SUNDAY SCHOOL! 🌎🍞

We know our families have busy schedules, so we wanted to get this date on your calendars early!

Sunday, October 4 at 10:00 a.m. marks the kickoff of our 2026–2027 Sunday School year at Sayville Congregational United Church of Christ!

Appropriately, we will begin our new year together on World Communion Sunday—a day when Christians around the world gather at Christ’s table and celebrate that, across nations, cultures, languages, and traditions, we are one body in Christ.

Our worship will also hear Jesus’ beautiful welcome in Mark 10:13–16:

“Let the little children come to me; do not stop them, for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.”

What better way to begin a new Sunday School year than by reminding our children that they belong here—not someday when they are older, but right now. Their questions, laughter, curiosity, energy, and gifts are an important part of our church family.

The Nominating Committee has begun its prayerful work of identifying leaders to serve our congregation in 2027.

One question we've heard often is:

"What's the difference between a Deacon Elder and a Deacon Trustee?"
