Please join us in praying for the repose of the soul of Rev. Robert Castro, who entered eternal life on October 25, 2026.

Ordained in 1985 for the Oblates of the Virgin Mary, Father Castro served the Diocese of Santa Rosa for 22 years, at St. John the Baptist and St. Apollinaris in Napa, St. Francis Solano in Sonoma, St. Sebastian in Sebastopol, and as chaplain at Napa State Hospital. He was known for his love of the Catholic faith and his pastoral care for the patients at Napa State Hospital.

Funeral arrangements will be announced once they are finalized.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. 🕊️

A moment with Bishop Vasa

Behind every thriving parish are faithful hearts serving with love.

On October 17, the Santa Rosa Diocesan Council of Catholic Women honored 20 remarkable women from across our diocese during its Women of the Year celebration at St. Francis Solano in Sonoma.

Their dedication, generosity, and often unseen service are a beautiful witness to faith in action. Congratulations to all the honorees!

A symbol of faith. A story of hope and restoration.

Last Wednesday, Bishop Vasa joined the Marian Sisters for the raising of their restored cross—a powerful reminder that the Cross of Christ continues to stand as a sign of faith, sacrifice, and hope.

The Cross Rises Again.
