This is a gathering of people in the Santa Rosa area of Sonoma County, in the north San Francisco Bay area of California, who believe that Yeshua of Natzeret (Jesus of Nazareth) is the Anointed One (Christ or Messiah) of the Creator, the God of Israel from long ago. As a "messianic" fellowship, we seek to learn together about God from His word, the Bible, via the many lessons encapsulated in the first five books of the Bible and explained by the prophets and the Messiah.

This week's reading in the three-year Torah cycle is Leviticus 26–27. God’s covenant concretely shapes how His people live. Our passage warns that rejecting Adonai’s ways brings escalating consequences, yet repentance opens the door to remembered covenant and restoration. A parallel passage from the prophet Jeremiah looks ahead to nations abandoning inherited falsehoods and recognizing Adonai. A related passage from Yeshua (Jesus) then presses the same choice personally: discipleship demands wholehearted, forward-looking allegiance — trusting Messiah enough to leave excuses, competing loyalties and the old life behind.

In this week's reading in the three-year Torah cycle, Leviticus 24, we see the continually burning menorah in ancient Israel’s Tabernacle, its bread of the Presence, and reverence for God’s Name. This Wednesday night is the start of Tisha b’Av, an important day of mourning the destruction of the First and Second Temples and other Jewish tragedies. It's traditionally observed with fasting and prayer. For believers in Yeshua (Jesus) as the Messiah and the “Word (of God) made flesh,” He brings to fullness the pattern of the Temple’s role as a pattern of Heaven. Believers are “temples of the Holy Spirit” and “living stones,” forming a spiritual house. Prophetic hopes of Temple restoration and Ezekiel’s ark-less temple point to Yeshua, culminating in the New Jerusalem, where God and the Lamb are the temple.
