Jesus Christ Is at the Center ❤️

Why are we called *The Church of Jesus Christ*?

Because Jesus Christ is at the center of everything we believe.

He is our Savior, our Redeemer, and the head of His Church. We gather in His name, worship in His name, and strive each day to follow His example.

“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus.” — Colossians 3:17

May everything we do point others toward Him.

We are thrilled to announce that one of our sisters, Miriam, has decided to give her life to the Lord Jesus Christ in baptism. Please join us in rejoicing that another soul has found the Lord. You are invited to Miriam's baptism and confirmation.

In the Church of Jesus Christ we use open, free-flowing water for this symbolic ordinance. Each candidate is asked 2 questions at the water's edge: Do you repent of all your sins? And do you promise to serve God all the remainder of your days?

Please join us as we worship the Lord, and welcome Miriam into the family of God.

The baptism will take place in the Provo River on Saturday August 15th at 1pm. The confirmation will be held in the Draper Library at 3pm. Details are in the images. All are welcome!

Some photos from Sunday's service of the Church of Jesus Christ in Sandy UT. In the church we don't follow a set manual or read prepared talks. Preaching is done by the voice of the Spirit. Sunday's theme turned out to be centered on Faith.

Brother Matthew and Sister Emily arrived early to set up the room. Sister Dana led the congregation in singing the Songs of Zion. Brother Bruce taught Sunday School (bringing art work of the Lord touching the brother of Jared's 16 stones as a visual aide), Sisters Alicia and Emily taught a kids Sunday School about Job. Brothers Panfilo and John preached on acting in faith, and trusting in the Lord. We took the Lord's Supper and after the service had a potluck lunch. It was a beautiful day. You are invited to worship with us every Sunday

Yesterday, we had an incredible meeting with Brothers Panfilo and John. They work extensively with the House of Joseph, our Lamanite friends, already finding contacts here in Utah. We can't wait to love and serve them in any way we can, and let the Lord do His work. Here is just a small clip of Brother John Straccia preaching the word.

All are welcome!

From our own Brother Josh Gehly (with permission):

In July 1862, the Lord spoke at a The Church of Jesus Christ conference commanding the ministry to "Set apart—Set apart and ordain the Twelve. Set apart and ordain." After all the ordinations were complete including a ordained presidency, the Lord spoke His blessing. "Hear ye the Word of the Lord. Ye are My Sons and Daughters, and I have committed unto you the Keys to the Kingdom, therefore be faithful."

In my church, we don't focus on the word "keys" very much. We simply look at Matthew 16 and view this as a heavenly power given to the ministry preaching the gospel of reconciliation in this era and time, like the apostles of old. Still, given the importance to the word from other churches in the Restoration Movement -- it might be relevant to share that the Lord has spoken directly that the Keys of the Kingdom are with the ministry in The Church of Jesus Christ.

On Sunday the Utah Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ had a blessed worship service. We gathered as we do each week to worship Jesus Christ. Sister Becky prepared the Lord's Supper table. Brother Bruce taught Sunday School. Brother Jared preached. Brother Brian preached, administered the Sacrament, and anointed (a prayer for healing using blessed oil) several in attendance. We prayed, shared testimony, and sung many Songs of Zion. If you've ever wondered what a traditional worship service looks like in the Church of Jesus Christ, we invite you to join us next Sunday!
