Following this morning’s Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at Ascension Cathedral, 2026 Conference Chair Julia Pappas reflected on the deep roots that she, our Vice Co-Chairs, and members of our Conference Committee share with this parish — and the generations of servant leadership within their families that have helped shape the magnificent Cathedral where we gathered today.

Celebrating the Divine Liturgy with His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos, His Grace Bishop Ioannis, and the clergy of Ascension was a beautiful reminder of what it means to be ROOTED: honoring those who came before us, serving the Church today, and continuing to build for the generations that will follow.

This morning, our conference theme came full circle. 🤎

A message from our Conference Leadership.

As we prepare to welcome you to San Francisco, YAL Conference Chair Julia Pappas and Vice Co-Chairs Anna N. Counelis and William Cumbelich share a few words about the heart behind YAL Conference 2026, what it means to be in the Bay Area, and the weekend that awaits us.

So much prayer, preparation, and love has gone into bringing this conference to life—and now, we’re almost here.
