Old First Presbyterian Church

Old First Presbyterian Church An inclusive community of faith worshiping God and serving the City since 1849. We look forward to the day we can resume public worship at our historic church.

We warmly welcome all who accept and respond to God's saving grace in Jesus Christ and who desire to participate in the life and ministry of this church. Our congregation of all ages, many ethnic backgrounds, and various family types comes together to worship and goes forth to serve. Our 11:00 Sunday worship features thoughtful, relevant sermons, excellent choral music, a traditional liturgy enlivened by art, and strong lay leadership. Until then, join us on Facebook and YouTube.

Wonder what this is?
It's a teaser for our exciting new art we created for Pentecost this year. Come worship with us on Sunday and experience it to see what part this is! Wear red, orange, yellow or all three to simulate the flames of Pentecost.

Logan Hollarsmith, Randy and Sidney's son and a child of Old First, has again done heroic work fighting for justice in Gaza. He was an important part of the latest flotilla of vessels sailing toward Gaza filled with food and medicine and even construcction workers to help the desparate Palestinians suffering there. They hoped to break the blockade Israel has imposed against such aid. However, yesterday, hi boat was illegally attacked, boarded, and the people on board were abducted in international waters by Israeli armed forces before their boats were even close to Gaza. Logan's little sailboat was seized yesterday and he was put on a prison ship and taken to an Israeli prison. However, Sidney reports that today he and over 450 other folks from the Flotilla were freed in Turkey. Hallelujah!
We should keep Logan, these brave protestors, and the people of Gaza in our prayers, and we must continue to fight for justice for Palestinians.

A San Francisco native is headed back to an Israeli prison for again attempting to break Israel’s maritime blockade of Gaza with a boat carrying supplies and humanitarian aid workers.
