🇻🇦 The Holy Father’s Weekly General Audience — 9 September 2026

Today, Wednesday, 9 September 2026, Pope Leo XIV held his weekly General Audience in St. Peter’s Square, where he met pilgrims and faithful from Italy and around the world. The audience began at 10:00 a.m.

The Holy Father continued his catechesis on the Documents of the Second Vatican Council, reflecting on Gaudium et Spes (12–22), with the theme:

“Human dignity: a gift and a responsibility.”

Pope Leo XIV reminded the faithful that every human person is created in God’s image and possesses a unique and lasting dignity. He emphasized that the Holy Spirit makes us free in Christ and guides us toward the fullness of life promised through the Resurrection.

The audience concluded with the Pater Noster and the Apostolic Blessing.

🙏 POPE LEO XIV SENDS EMERGENCY AID TO NEPAL AFTER DEVASTATING FLOODS — A POWERFUL SIGN OF COMPASSION FOR THOUSANDS FACING DESPERATION

As Nepal struggles to recover from devastating flash floods, Pope Leo XIV has reportedly sent financial assistance to Caritas Nepal to support emergency relief efforts for people affected by the disaster.

The aid was sent by the Holy See through the Dicastery for the Service of Charity, in coordination with the Apostolic Nunciature of Nepal. Archbishop Luis Marín de San Martín described it as the Pope’s initial assistance to address the immediate needs of the suffering population.

But beyond the financial support, the message behind the gesture is deeply moving: the Church wants vulnerable families to know that they have not been forgotten in their darkest hour.

Archbishop Marín described the assistance as a rapid and concrete expression of the Holy Father’s closeness — “like a caress from the Church” accompanying and supporting those affected.

In the face of unimaginable loss, one simple act of compassion can become a powerful reminder that people around the world are standing with Nepal. ❤️🙏
