Tonight I sat for a while before the statue of Saint Sharbel, here in our parish parking lot. In the quiet, it almost felt like a conversation.
Saint Sharbel, miracle worker and faithful servant of God,
you knew silence, suffering, prayer, and complete trust in the Lord.
Tonight I bring before you every person in our parish who is sick — those fighting cancer, those facing surgery, those living with chronic pain, those waiting anxiously for test results, and those whose suffering is known only to God.
Saint Sharbel, sickness can be frightening. It can exhaust the body, trouble the mind, and sometimes even shake the heart. Please stand beside our sick. Carry their prayers to Jesus. Ask Him to give them healing according to His holy will, courage when they are afraid, strength when they are tired, and peace when the road becomes difficult.
You have been called a miracle worker, but every miracle points us to Christ. So tonight, Saint Sharbel, I ask you: bring our parishioners closer to Jesus. Visit every hospital room, every home, every bedside, and every heart that is quietly crying out for help.
And for the one reading these words tonight who is suffering:
Saint Sharbel, pray for you.
May Christ place His healing hand upon you.
May you never feel alone.
And may hope rise again in your heart.
Saint Sharbel, beloved saint of Lebanon and powerful intercessor for the sick, pray for us. Amen. 🙏🕯️
