Yesterday marked an exciting new chapter as we gathered together in our new two service schedule! It was such a blessing to see our church family worshiping and connecting with each other.

This transition creates more opportunities for fellowship, serving and stronger connections across our congregation.

We continued our study in Luke and saw how Jesus teaches His followers to live with purpose, trust God’s plan, and focus on what matters most. Check out the whole sermon on our YouTube page now!

In this message from Luke 6:12–26, we see Jesus calling ordinary people, ministering to hurting people, and teaching His followers to see life through the values of His kingdom rather than the priorities of this world. As He calibrates the called, we discover that genuine faith changes not only what we believe, but how we think, live, and hope—learning to trust Christ, follow His leading, and view life through an eternal perspective.

The Warning to not Over-Complicate God’s Word

There’s a saying our there that says, “God’s Word is simple enough that a child can understand it, but deep enough that one can drown in it,” and sometimes..it can be by our own hand. It is good to rightly divide God’s Word (2 Tim 2:15) for what it says, but it is equally (if not more important) to apply it in our lives through obedience. (Luke 6:46, 1 Samuel 15:22, Hosea 6:6)

In this message from Luke 6:1–11, we see Jesus confront a burdensome form of religion that had lost sight of the heart of God. Through the Sabbath conflict and the healing of a man with a withered hand, we discover that true rest is not found in striving, performance, or self-made righteousness, but in trusting Christ. This passage calls weary hearts to stop hiding, stop striving, and find renewed life through surrender to Him.
