Heights Community Church

Heights Community Church H.C.C. is a non-denominational Bible Church in the central part of San Antonio, focusing on family-oriented ministry and founded on the GRACE of Jesus.

Who We Are:
WHAT MATTERS MOST @ HCC:
Uncensored Grace & Love – Lavished by His Grace & Loved by His people

Authentic Acceptance – “It’s ok not to be ok” … welcome home! Abundant Living & Generosity – Abundant life “In-Christ” coupled w/ Grace Giving

“Community” Ownership, Empowerment & Commitment – A Passionate compassion for our COMMUNITY as we are the Hands and Feet of Jesus

HOW WE LIVE @

HCC:
CONNECTION w/ God & CONNECTION w/ Others - We are intentional about setting aside time to CONNECT w/ God through His Word, His Spirit, and Prayer, and CONNECT w/ others (family; neighborhood; co-workers; friends at HCC; etc…)

COMMUNITY … we are the Hands and Feet of Jesus in our COMMUNITY - We are intentional about serving the spiritual and social needs in our community as an extension of God’s Grace and Mercy to His people.

“Doing Life Together” - We are intentional about investing our lives in people, and if helpful, inviting anyone interested to an HCC CELEBRATION experience.

“Peel’n the Onion” - We are intentional about dealing with the layers of "junk" in our own lives with the help of trusted friends. Family Ministry - We are intentional about providing resources for each family to have a variety of effective tools to share together in their Grace Walk w/ Jesus. Mom & Dad are God’s design to disciple our children. And at HCC, we come along side each family and share together in that journey of discipleship.

“Get Stamped” - Keep your passport current, as we are intentional about being the Hands and Feet of Jesus, not just in San Antonio, Texas or the United States, but also serving the utter-most parts of the world.

Whew - another great story today!

Someone left our Worship experience this morning and went to lunch afterwards.

As they were leaving, someone in the restaurant commented, "I like your shirt." (the shirt said "We Love Jesus, Heights Community Church")

Then she asked if the person would come over for a minute and shared w/ her, "I've literally been praying that God would send someone to me to pray for me, and I think YOU are that person. Would you pray fo me?"

Of course - and right there, in the restaurant ... they just straight up had some Church!

God is so good, and I'm so thankful for how we're getting stories of Him working through His Bride, right here in our city this week!

For this episode, we sat down with Emma Holzmann, a police officer with the San Antonio Police Department, to hear more about her story, her heart for serving our city, and what faith looks like in her everyday life.

We’re grateful for the people who show up, serve, and make a difference in San Antonio. ❤️

What a week of REMINDERS of all God is doing and How Good He is!

Got this message this morning, from our dear friends who transitioned from SanAntonio to the Mission Field in Belize.

They went to be missionaries, thinking they would be hosting ministry people from the USA on a time of respite and renewal. WELL ... if you ever wanna have some fun, try telling God what your Mission is!!! (they'll still get to do that at some point)

While their house/retreat is still under construction, God directed them to a local Church Fellowship there in their community, and honestly, Bible Studies were pretty foreign idea. Not to mention, the $$ needed (even $15-20) to purchase a workbook or anything was WAY out of the local people's capacity.

One of the amazing things about HCC from the very beginning has been the desire to be God's Hands and Feet ... no matter where, w/ who, or what the cost. And so HCC jumped right in and said, "you get the ladies, and we'll handle the curriculum!!!"

WELL - they did, and it's happening ... in amazing ways!

I got this message from Belize this am:

"Thank you Jesus!! We have had 12-14 ladies weekly engaged in the study of Jonah! Because of a Belizean holiday next week we will finish on September 17.
Unanimously last night they agreed to wanting to do a 5 week study before the end of the year.
Without the support of HCC this would not be possible. Women are engaging, growing in the word and drawing closer to HIM! To HIM be all GLORY!

I prayed for community and HE has given me a mission field and a boldness in leading women i never saw coming. I am humbled and so grateful.
As soon as I get numbers and shipping (which may be cheaper and more reliable as an extra luggage fee when Brooke or my sister come in Oct) I will let you know.

Thank you so much to HCC for loving us (pir family) and this community so well. Thank for for helping us be the hands and feet of Jesus, feeding those so hungry for more of HIM!"

We can't wait to see what part of God's Story He takes them through together next, but HCC - THANK YOU for your YES! THANK YOU for worshipping together in Generosity in ways that allows the Gospel to literally go around the world! And Don & Julie - thank you for your Faithfulness and Obedience to go and lead where God calls! (although we miss you!!!!)

I love it when we get messages like this throughout the week:

"PK ... Where I work there’s a resident named _______ . He is battling with Kidney failure and needs a donor. (He’s on a wait list)

Well , today I had the privilege to pray for him a second time . I was already driving to pick up my wife, when I heard in my soul say, "Turn around and go pray for him ."

So I did. When I arrived and asked him if I could pray for him, his neighbor Teri saw us and asked "What are yall doing?" My friend said, "we are about to pray." She said "will you pray for me too? Can I join ?" 🥲

(this broke me)

We prayed together and it was amazing!

Please join me in praying for a miracle !"

Y'ALL ... THIS is it! Walking w/ Jesus and listening to the Holy Spirit and getting a glimpse of God doing "... abundantly more than we could hope, dream or imagine."

Well done!!!!

WOW!!! What a DAY!

If you missed today, you really missed an incredible experience!

We had Ministry Teams all over our City:
- Hosting at different Laundrymats and praying w/ people on-site (including the management at one location).

- Handing out Bottles of Water, Popsicles, and Prayers at street corners - which also turned into some folks purchasing Gas for someone in desperate need.

- Serving a Single Adult Female who's house had LOTS of damage from the storm Friday night.

- Bringing in Carts at Target, and not only helping people in the parking lot, but our students were walking around the INSIDE of Target praying w/ people.

- Thanking some Firestations w/ Breakfast and praying for all the Firefighters.

- Re-striping the Parking Lots at HCC, including some new Handicap spaces.

- Got the Bulletin Boards and Coffee Bars on-campus updated and ready for the busy fall season.

And y'all - the responses people have shared were incredible.
- 1 person in the Laundry mat literally called their spouse and asked the Team to pray for their entire family.

- The single adult called back just completely overwhelmed with Gratitude for the way THE CHURCH just showed up and came to her!

- The Firefighters were just blown away and grateful for a great breakfast and the Prayers - and they even gave all the kiddos a great experience on all the trucks too!

- People passing out water and praying for people on the streets and then just opened up their own wallet and life and helped a needy family w/ Gasoline to make it!

There has been so many more - I'm just so thankful for a Body committed to being God's Hands & Feet in our city together.

Thank you HCC!!!!
