From Brotherman.
Easter season is about what Jesus accomplished for us. Not sure how familiar you are with the Jewish feast days that Jesus fulfilled. It is remarkable.
For example, Passover goes back to Exodus as God’s people were spared the death of the firstborn by demonstrating their faith with the blood of the lamb placed on their door posts. (Exodus 12)
Scripture says that Jesus Christ is our Passover. He is the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. (1 Cor 5:7, John 1:29,36)
So this likely occurred on a Friday of 31AD which is a super cool prophecy I can show you sometime.
On Sabbath following the Friday Passover was another feast called Unleavemed Bread. Scripture calls this a high Sabbath in John 19:31 because a Jewish feast day incidentally fell on God’s 7th day Sabbath from creation. On this particular feast day, (Unleavened Bread) God’s people were to remove all yeast from their homes.
Yeast or Leaven rises. The Lord did not rise on Sabbath. He rested in the grave on Sabbath thus fulfilling this feast as well.
And then early on Sunday morning another feast was fulfilled called Firstfruits. The Resurrection of Jesus is why anyone is allowed to be resurrected. That is how prominent His work is to our salvation. But what many never pay attention to is Matthew 27:52-53 says that many graves were opened at the death of the Son of God and upon His resurrection, they too were resurrected. Ephesians 4:8 says that Jesus led those that were captive to the grave as His firstfruits captives to heaven!!!! He took trophies with Him. How cool is that?!!!
Soon He will come again and not only raise those in their graves but will also transform us to our new bodies as we meet Him in the air. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, 1 Cor 15:51-53).
All we have to do is demonstrate He is our Savior by metaphorically placing His life blood on the door posts of our hearts. And this melts our pride and resistance to surrender to Him as Lord of our lives as well. (Heb 8:10)
His love is amazing and transformative.
Ok this is long enough. Just wanted to share. Happy Sabbath. Love ya.
