It was an honor to welcome Lord Russell Rook, the Baron Rook, Anglican Priest and member of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom to Congregation Kol Ami today as he wanted to hear about the interfaith work we do. We presented Lord Rook with an Utah challah board for him to take back home with him.

I have congregants looking for home healthcare for an elderly couple about 18 hours a week in Salt Lake City. Any recommendations?

Barri Worth Girvan has always been the Jewish voice in the room—not when it was convenient or politically opportune.

I have reached out to local friends in Muslim leadership regarding the tragic shooting at the mosque in San Diego. An attack on any religious institution in America is an attack on all of us. I am sending my prayers tonight to the American Muslim community.

Thanks to my friend Mike O’Brien for a beautiful article about his impressions on the gorgeous stained glass piece made by Holdman Studios and donated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to our mikveh

By Michael Patrick O’Brien– There are few better examples of living water than the Red Sea. In the Book of Exodus, God delivers the people of Israel through those very waters after four…

Nate Blouin and the company he keeps. Hasan Piker is named in a bipartisan resolution before Congress to condemn antisemitism as an example of antisemitism. This is disgusting

In a livestream with Piker, a self-described Marxist, congressional candidate Nate Blouin embraced a full progressive agenda.

Sabbatical/Omer beard got trimmed as my incredible first of three months sabbatical comes to an end. I go back to shul tomorrow with great new ideas and recharged until I do my second month starting in late July. Thanks to the amazing Congregation Kol Ami for supporting and encouraging me to take this opportunity. One of the highlights of my sabbatical was the day I took my daughters to the Rafi Schwartz Religious School and all the hugs and smiles I got from students telling me how they’ve missed me. This community is the best!

Sad to hear of the passing of Abe Foxman, a Holocaust survivor, who worked for the Anti-Defamation League for over 50 years, including 28 as its director. Though I at times disagreed with positions he took, there have been few in my lifetime who have fought as hard to combat antisemitism as Abe Foxman. We need more like him today, may his memory be a blessing

“The news of Abe Foxman’s death has sent waves of grief throughout our Jewish world and well beyond. To be sure he was a true gadol hador, a towering figure of his generation who not only spent decades leading the ADL in its fight against antisemitism and all forms of hate but also was an omnipresent voice on virtually every important Jewish communal debate not only about antisemitism but also as a passionate advocate for the security and well-being of Israel and for the special relationship between the U.S. and Israel, as well as for Jewish moral imperatives drawn from Jewish history and tradition.” -URJ President, Rabbi Rick Jacobs
