Labor Day is celebrated as a day to appreciate the economic and societal impact of hardworking people and reflect on the progress our country has made as a result of the workforce.

Labor Day has been a national holiday since June 28, 1894.

September Mission: Personal Dignity Kit

When there is a health need in someone's life, it effects so many different areas of their life. From a lack of mobility to being unable to work or attend school, their daily life, and potentially their family's life, is disrupted. Personal dignity kits work to meet these needs.

Each kit includes:
1 Hand Towel (no kitchen towels)
1 Washcloth (no dishcloths)
1 Adult Toothbrush (no multipacks)
1 Bar Soap (3-4 oz)
1 Shampoo (12-19 oz)
1 Deodorant (2-3 oz)
1 Lotion (8-10 oz)
*$2 Donation for toothpaste and carrying bag

Donate items for a complete kit, a bunch of the same item, or a financial donation.

Monetary donations will be used to purchase items to complete kits or support postage costs for distribution of kits.

In a world where powerful people make decisions to lift themselves up and cast others aside. Where power means might and is held over people's heads.

Help us to see things as they are, not only as they affect ourselves. Grant that we may have a wise and modest estimate of our own powers with all things.

Teach us our failings and our faults; give us courage to acknowledge them and enable us to overcome them.

Lift us above the unstable currents of our self-will and establish us on the rock of purpose.

O God, be our inner guide to protect the vulnerable, resist the oppressors, and persist in doing good.
