Holy Cross Lutheran Church- Ste. Genevieve

Holy Cross Lutheran Church- Ste. Genevieve Welcome in the name of Jesus Christ to Holy Cross Lutheran Church! Know that you are always welcome here, and we hope that you join us soon! Genevieve.

The congregation of Holy Cross was founded on May 11, 1867 by a small group of German Lutherans that resided around Ste. The following year in 1868, the brick church was built and is still in use today. While the initial project to build the building only cost $3000.00 at the time, it was a huge endeavor for the small amount of people at the time. In fact, many Roman Catholic friends stepped forwa

rd to give financial help to build the church. During the week, the newfound congregation used the sanctuary as a elementary school and the antique teacher's desk remains in the narthex and is still in use to this day. In 2017, Holy Cross will be celebrating 150 years as a congregation. We have been blessed by God to reside and serve this community here in Ste. From humble beginnings to the present the congregation here at Holy Cross remains a people richly blessed by the Lord, rejoicing in His Grace and mercy and looking forward to Christ's final return. You are welcome to come and join our congregational family, as our Lord God blesses us through His Holy Word and Sacraments. Come as all of us together are "Transformed in Christ to Share the Hope of Eternal Life." Worship Service: 9:00am
