What if the way you see everything could be completely changed? Not by willpower or information, but by fixing your gaze on God until your very perception is transformed from the inside out.

This week's message from Romans 12:1-2 challenges us to stop crawling off the altar and to let God do what only he can do -- reshape not just your outer shell, but your inner substance. The world never stops pressing you into its mold. But surrender to God is not defeat. It is, as Paul writes, the only logical response to his mercy.

A renewed mind does not white-knuckle its way through the will of God. It looks at that same will and says, "This is good. This is exactly what I would have chosen if I had ever been able to see straight."

Come encounter the God who transforms what you behold into who you become.

What if the problem is not that you lack information, but that you are looking through the wrong lens?

Romans 12:1-2 calls us to stop being conformed to this age and to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. That transformation is not something you accomplish through willpower or a better routine. It is something God does when you stay on the altar and keep your eyes fixed on him.

Like a lens shaped by what it beholds, your mind takes the form of whatever you give your attention to. The more you gaze at what is true, the more the counterfeit loses its appeal.

If your heart is longing for real change, not just a new shell but a new substance, come and fix your eyes on Jesus. The author and perfecter of your faith is already at work.

When one part of the body suffers, we all suffer. When one part is honored, we all rejoice. That is not just a nice idea -- it is God's design for His church. (1 Corinthians 12:26-27)

This week's message reminded us that real unity goes beyond celebrating together in the good times. It means moving toward one another in the hard times, lending your strength to someone whose strength has run out -- just as Aaron and Hur held up Moses' hands when he could no longer hold them himself. (Exodus 17:8-13)

We are not meant to fight alone. Suffering reveals that we need one another. Unity teaches us that we belong to one another. And teamwork requires us to rely on one another.

If you missed Sunday's service, come join us. The body of Christ is better when you are in it.

Purity is not a cage. It is not restriction dressed up in religious language. Purity is freedom from the things that break you down, weaken your spirit, and keep you feeling dirty and unworthy. God does not offer purity as punishment. He offers it as the path back to the life He designed you to live in Him - whole, clear, connected and free.
