As many of our Catholic school students, teachers, principals, and staff enjoy MEA break this week, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for all you do throughout the year.

Thank you for creating classrooms where faith and learning go hand in hand, where students are encouraged to grow academically, spiritually, and personally. We hope these days provide an opportunity to rest, recharge, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy God's many blessings.

May this break be filled with joy, peace, and renewal as you prepare to continue your important mission of forming the next generation of disciples and leaders. We are grateful for each of you!

Today is the feast of St. John Henry Newman

As the leaves continue to change and another week of October unfolds, we celebrate St. John Henry Newman, who reminded us that each person has a unique mission given by God.

"I have a place in God's counsels, in God's world, which no one else has."

What a beautiful reminder that God has created each of us with a purpose. Whether through our families, our parish, our work, or our service to others, we are called to use the gifts He has entrusted to us for His glory.

May we take time today to thank God for the blessings in our lives and ask for the courage to faithfully answer His call.

Welcome, October! As the leaves begin to change and paint the world with the colors of a new season, we're reminded of God's beauty and faithfulness in every stage of life. We thank God for the blessings entrusted to us and for the many people whose faith and generosity strengthen our Catholic communities. May this season inspire us to live with gratitude, grow in faith, and reflect on the legacy we are creating for future generations.

Rain is covering much of our diocese today. While it may alter our plans, it also reminds us of one of God's greatest gifts: water, the source of life.

Through the waters of Baptism, we are welcomed into God's family. Through rain, God continues to sustain His creation, bringing growth where it is needed most.

As we watch the rain fall today, let us give thanks for the many ways God provides for us, often through simple gifts we can easily take for granted.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost, the heroes who responded without hesitation, and the countless families forever changed by the events of September 11, 2001.

In moments of tragedy, we are reminded of both the fragility of life and the strength of the human spirit. As people of faith, we turn to prayer for those who were lost, gratitude for those who served, and hope that God continues to guide our nation toward peace, unity, and compassion.

On this anniversary of 9/11, may we honor their memory by living with courage, kindness, and a renewed commitment to serving one another.

"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." (John 1:5)

As we head into the Labor Day weekend, let us also pause to remember the Feast of Saint Cloud on Monday, September 7.

Saint Cloud, the patron of our diocese and community, devoted his life to serving God and caring for those in need. May his example inspire us to live our faith with generosity, humility, and love.

Today we celebrate St. Augustine, one of the Church's greatest saints and theologians. After years of searching for meaning, he discovered the truth and peace found only in God.
