Drikung Namgyal Ling extends a warm welcome to practitioners in Tucson, Arizona, and around the world! While our center is located in Tucson, and principally provides teachings and practices to our immediate area, we frequently enjoy out-of-town visitors wishing to attend teachings by our own Khenpo Sherab Ozer, and many other senior teachers of the Drikung Kagyu tradition. While Tibetan Buddhism
is relatively new to the United States, it has deep and enduring roots in Tucson. Since the late 1980s, our community has been greatly fortunate and very grateful to have had the honor to receive teachings from many great and much-loved teachers, including His Holiness The Dalai Lama, His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche, His Eminence Lho Bongtrul Tenzin Nyima, Khenchen Khenchen Konchog Gyaltshen, Ontul Rinpoche, Drupon Thinley Ningpo, Khenpo Yeshi, Chagme Rinpoche, and others. Our sangha meets regularly for practices, tsoks, teachings and other events and is hopeful to one day have a physical center to meet and meditate together. The Drikung Namgyal Ling sangha spans southern Arizona and consists of both seasoned practitioners, and those new to the dharma. Our teachings regularly attract from a few dozen to over a hundred attendees, depending on the teacher and type of teaching. While our budding center has experienced wonderful opportunities over its very brief lifetime, we remain grateful for all that we receive, optimistic in our devotion to the dharma, and humble in the presence of our teachers. We are indeed fortunate to have access to qualified and authentic teachers, and especially to have the guidance of Khenpo Rinpoche to help us find our path. May all beings benefit!
