First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Russellville, KY No matter where you are or what season of life you are in, you are welcome here. First Christian Church is located at the corner of Seventh and Winter Streets.

We are right in the middle of an incredible community of people in the heart of beautiful historic downtown Russellville, Kentucky. The First Christian Church of Russellville is the oldest continuous Disciples of Christ congregation in Logan County. The theme song to the 1980’s hit television series Cheer’s was, I want to go where everybody knows my name. The concept of people really knowing your

name and caring about you is something we take seriously. If you are looking for a smaller congregation where you can worship God, grow spiritually and build great friendships; the First Christian Church of Russellville might be the place that you have been looking for.

LUCY'S COAT CLOSET will be open to the public on the following dates and times for 2026!

October 14, 2026 11 am - 1 pm
October 28, 2026 11 am - 1 pm (sack lunches served)
November 11, 2026 11 am - 1 pm
November 18, 2026 11 am - 1 pm (sack lunches served) AND 5 pm - 7 pm
December 2, 2026 11 am - 1 pm AND 5 pm - 7 pm
December 16, 2026 11 am - 1 pm ( if inventory allows)

Donations of gently used (or new) coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and fleece throws are appreciated at any time. We also accept socks (new only). Donations can be dropped at the church on Tuesdays or Thursdays between 9 am & 2 pm & ring doorbell. Or call Vickie Kemp at 726-6685 to make other arrangements. Monetary donations are always appreciated.; just denote "coat closet" on the check made payable to First Christian Church.

We are again implementing some procedures and limitations this year. Please be prepared to show a photo ID upon arrival.

First Christian Church is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Church Secretary / Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of the church office and assist with weekly church communications and financial tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, basic accounting knowledge, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities
• Prepare weekly church bulletins by gathering and organizing service information
• Create and edit PowerPoint presentations for each church service
• Maintain and distribute monthly calendars, prayer lists, and church newsletters
• Mail newsletters and church correspondence to individuals on the church mailing list
• Assist with office organization and general administrative duties
• Support church financial operations using QuickBooks, including:
o Accounts payable
o Payroll assistance
o Financial reports
o Quarterly tax reports
• Maintain confidentiality with church and financial information

Qualifications
• Knowledge of QuickBooks preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Friendly and professional communication skills
• Previous office, administrative, or church experience preferred
