It’s been a little over a week since Hotdogs & Haircuts and we are still in awe of the support that has been poured into our community making this year’s event another wonderful success.
We had 7 remarkable stylists from Indian Lake, Bellefontaine and even Findlay share their skills with 79 students who received haircuts. The stylists showed compassion to each person in their chair and gave those students the confidence they needed to walk back into school feeling their best.
Thank you to Haylee McCafferty - Salon Platinum 121, Heather Henry - Salon Platinum 121, Tawney Large - Salon Platinum 121, Darla Myers - Darla’s Color & Cuts, Sierra Green - Roots, Kerrigan Kwiat, and Scarlet - Bangs! Show these amazing women your support this year and schedule some time in their chairs at their salons.
In the youth center, the supplies were stocked and ready to go thanks to community members, church members and local sponsors. The line outside of the building lasted over an hour after opening the doors! We served over 200 from Indian Lake, Bellefontaine, Lima, Springfield and more! Whatever the situation, we welcome anyone in need, not just those from Indian Lake.
This event could not have been possible without the help of our volunteers. They made the day run smooth and efficiently.
While we don’t want to rush time, we do want to set a loose date for next summer. Hotdogs & Haircuts is always the Sunday before Indian Lake begins school. Once the school calendar is set we will post next year’s date.
Once again, thank you to everyone who made this event possible.

🌭Hotdogs and Haircuts is tomorrow! Here are a few things to keep in mind.✂

-This is a donation based, community event. Every stylist is donating their time, every meal has been purchased by church and community members as well as prepared and served by volunteers, and the school supplies and hygiene items are donated by church and community members. Please be kind to the volunteers as we are doing our best to make sure everyone gets in and out in a timely manner and we service as many students as we can.
With that being said, we have placed a limit on certain items to ensure we are reaching as many families as possible. Students may need more than the limited number and we are aware of that and hope this event helps to get some or most of each item but you may not be able to complete your list.
-Please only take school supplies that are on your supply lists and not extra.
-If the item is sharable (ie. body wash, tooth paste, etc.) please only take one per family. Again, this allows us to reach a greater amount of people.
-Children need to be with an adult at all times. They will not be allowed to shop alone to ensure they are getting items they actually need and for their own safety.

**RAIN IS IN THE FORECAST!** Please, stay in your vehicles until 1pm. We WILL NOT be opening our doors any sooner. This allows church members to leave The Lighthouse service without issue, gives the stylists time to set up and the food to be prepared.

Let's make this another great event! We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, 1-4pm.

The set up and prep is underway for Hotdogs & Haircuts and we are still in need of several items: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant (men’s and women’s), mouthwash, toothpaste, pencils, crayons, ziplock bags, paper towels. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated! Donation drop off sites are The Costume Shop, Gathering Grounds, and Indian Lake Brewing Company.

🌿💦 Today is the day! Rainforest Falls VBS is finally here! 💦🌿

We are so excited to welcome all of our adventurers for an incredible week of fun, friendships, games, music, crafts, and discovering just how amazing God’s love is!

Our team has been working hard to prepare an unforgettable week, and we can’t wait to see what God has in store for every child who walks through our doors.

⏰ VBS runs Monday through Friday from 9am - 12pm.

Didn’t register yet? There’s still time! We’d love to have your child join us. Just come a few minutes early, and we’ll get them checked in. Everyone is welcome!
