It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s a drone in the Nave!

Capital improvements have officially begun! We recently wrapped up a high-tech inspection of our beautiful stained-glass windows to evaluate their condition before replacing their aging protective panels. Over the past 45 years, the current coverings have yellowed, dimming the beauty of the glass.

This assessment helps us determine if any restoration is needed before installing new, long-lasting tempered glass panels that won't yellow over time. Taking the time to do this right ensures we're preserving our church's treasures thoughtfully for generations to come.

A Prayer for all those students, teachers, assistants, bus drivers and volunteers at the start of this new school year.

Loving God, be with these people - students, teachers, administrators, bus drivers, custodians. Be with them and help them as they begin a new year of learning, teaching, growing, and serving. May their minds and their pencils be sharp; may their lunches never be forgotten at home; and may their Pink Pearl erasers help them to remember that mistakes are okay, in fact, are the most important part of the process.

God, thank you for glue sticks and homework folders and laptops and crisp new notebooks waiting to be filled; thank you for schools and libraries and teachers; thank you for gift of curiosity and for your Wisdom that is all around.

God of Wisdom, bless these teachers, students, and staff and all whom they meet.

We pray this and everything in the name of your Son, who left his parents so he could sit and learn at the feet of those rabbis in the temple. Amen.

Holy Smokes - it smells so good out here! Thanks to our intrepid grillers for smoking 12 pork shoulder butts for tomorrow's Welcome Back BBQ! Plus BBQ chicken, mac and cheese and more. It'll be great! All are welcome! Just bring your appetite. We'll kick off our program year with Back to School Blessings, Sunday School Registration and BBQ! Hope to see you tomorrow.
