THE INTEGRITY OF GOD'S NUMBER SYSTEM: (Part 3)
The title also could be "The Accuracy of God's Numbers and the Pitiful Inaccuracy of Man's Theories!"
"For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night." Psalm 90:4 Nothing is in the Scripture by accident. The Holy Spirit put it in there for miners of truth. I am one. My name Greg means "watchful" or "diligent." But I am humbled by how much truth I do not have, for the more I find out, the more I find out that the reservoir of the truth of God is larger than I had just previously thought. Psalm 90 truth: When a day passes for God, 1000 years pass for us. God has given us a scale or key to figure some things out. 2 Peter 3:8 sheds more light. "7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. 8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
The context here is the 2nd coming and the end time. God wants us to know a mystery. That is why Peter repeats the Psalm scripture more clearly. "...that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." That means 1 hour with God is 41.6 years with us. 1 minute with God is about 7 months with us. Is this all valid in Heaven also? No, I believe this is a key that relates to this Creation, and the earth. The time ratio of God is one more woven key to make us in awe of Him, but also to have a handle on big events in the Kingdom! Shall we test the absoluteness of His Holy, wonderful and unchanging Word?
Test #1: God told Adam and Eve, "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." Genesis 2:17 As a younger believer, I always looked at this verse as a failure by God to be accurate, since man only spiritually died that day and did not physically die. But the Holy Spirit opened my eyes one day. Man has never lived longer than 969 years, and that was Methuselah. Then, Adam died at 930 years of age. God was correct all along, that man died in the very God-day that he ate of the fruit, and Eve no doubt died before Adam, or the Bible would have mentioned her age of death too. A God day is 1000 years to man. Adam died just short of 1000 years, or 1 day to God. Man died in the day he ate of the fruit.
Test #2: The creation of the Sun and the Moon. "And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day." Genesis 1:14,16, 19. It says the Sun and the Moon are for signs. A sign of what? Of Jesus, for one. Every morning, the sunrise preaches the Resurrection of Christ, and God has seen to that sign. Every night when the Moon reflects the Sun, it symbolizes the Church reflecting Jesus while He is gone. These two heavenly bodies came on the 4th day, and Jesus, the Son and the Church both came forth in the 4000th year of human history. The key was right on again, a day with God is as 1000 years.
There are many more tests and prophetic assertions from God that this key will pass, but there is no room to cover those here.
This same 1000 year key points to the return of Jesus at year 6000. Has God failed with His 1000 year key, since it appears to be 24 years past 6000 years? Notice I said "appears." Secular science follows the Gregorian calendar today which was invented in 1582 A.D. Let's see, how sophisticated was man's knowledge in 1582? Didn't they use leeches for infections, and believe the earth to be flat just 100 years earlier? Do you trust man, who believes we came from apes? Modern science has done almost nothing to improve the calendar of 1582. They accept it. Did you know that we are only in year 5778 of the Jewish calendar, the new year beginning 9/5/24? I really do not believe either calendars to be correct. The Jewish calendar is behind the Gregorian calendar because it is slower by 6 minutes and 25 seconds per year than the Gregorian solar calendar. Also, what if the 2000 years with God began when Jesus ascended to heaven, and not His birth? 33 years subtracted from 2024 is 1991 years. I would not bring this up, except, if the good Samaritan is a type of Jesus, he paid the innkeeper 2 days wages when he left, and said he would make up any shortages when he returned. I looked it up once, and the two pence or two denari as another version says is exactly 2 days wages. In God days, 2 days, in our time, 2000 years. The Samaritan expected to be back in 2 days. That time period began when he left. We must also realize that God's 2000 years would probably be an approximation because of His love and mercy. So take your pick, 1974, 1980, 2013, 2020, 2030 or anytime. When they asked Jesus when things would be restored, He said, "It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power." Acts 1:7 Could He also have meant that we would not even know what the year or date was, and only the Father would? I believe we will look back from Heaven one day, and say, "wow, God sure was correct about that 6 day and 6000 year thing." The Word is always right, and man is not. Neither is the devil, so you just act on His promises, and plan according to His holy Word in your life! God and His Word have an integrity that will take all of eternity to understand and discover the depth of it. End of Part 3, see the other parts at my wall. I apologize for the length here.
