The Salvation Army is grateful to Livea weight loss centers in the Twin Cities for collecting coat donations this month. Thanks to your generosity, we received nearly 150 coats and winter accessories to help keep our neighbors warm this winter.

As Minnesota’s cold winter months approach, a warm coat can make all the difference.
Last week, The Salvation Army held a coat distribution in South Minneapolis to provide warm coats to hundreds of families in our community. With freezing temperatures just around the corner, this event will help ensure our neighbors have the warmth they need to face the winter ahead.

This past month, The Salvation Army Northern Division was pleased to observe Hispanic Heritage Month through a variety of events. We spoke with several officers across the division to ask them what Hispanic Heritage Month means to them.
The Hispanic community makes a tremendous impact in our cities and towns and plays an important role in helping us share the love of Jesus and reach people from all walks of life. Through our diverse cultures and shared faith, we continue to bring people together, strengthen our communities, and celebrate the unity that makes us stronger.

Yesterday, St. Paul mayor Kaohly Her and other community leaders joined Salvation Army officers, staff and volunteers for the dedication of Hope Market - a new food pantry at the West 7th Salvation Army in St. Paul.
Hope Market will serve hundreds of local families, providing a more welcoming and inviting way to help meet the needs of the community. It’s a place where individuals and families can pick out the food they need, creating a shopping experience that promotes choice, dignity, and hope.

Last week, our community came together in Minneapolis to stand united against human trafficking.
Hosted by our local Anti-Human Trafficking Ministry Committee and leadership from the Northeast Minneapolis Salvation Army, this gathering brought together law enforcement, firefighters, nonprofit organizations, faith communities, and other local partners for a time of prayer, awareness, and connection.
Together, we prayed for victims and survivors of human trafficking, for those working to combat exploitation, and for wisdom, strength, and protection for those serving our community.
Human trafficking is happening in our communities, and it takes all of us working together to raise awareness, support survivors, and stand against exploitation.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and to those who continue to be part of this important work. Together, we can stand for freedom, dignity, and hope.
