This week, the pastors released $3,000 of Disaster Relief funds to Lutheran World Relief in response to the devastating flooding in Nepal. Thank you for your ongoing support of this fund so that we can respond urgently when a crisis arises.

We cannot unsee the footage from the terrible disaster on August 26 ... yet we will not look away from our neighbors in Nepal who are suffering.

We remember the loved ones in our community who have died by su***de, we uplift their families who live with grief, we pray for those who struggle with su***de ideation, and hope for the day when mental health care is widely accessible for all.

September is National Su***de Prevention Month. "Su***de impacts people of all ages, especially youth and young adults. Pray for hope, relief from suffering and skilled, compassionate care for people who struggle with loneliness, depression and mental illness. Pray that they will find comfort and encouragement in knowing that God abandons no one. Ask God to bless and further the work of Lutheran Su***de Prevention Ministry and other organizations engaged in su***de awareness, education, collaboration and advocacy." —Prayer Ventures

We are horrified and saddened by the news coming from Nepal about the flash flooding today. The ELCA is in contact with our companions and partners in Nepal as the impact continues to unfold. We hold our companions and partners, and the people of Nepal and Tibet in prayer in this incredibly challenging time.

Let us pray:

Loving God, in the communion of Christ, we are joined with the trials and sufferings of all. Be with the people of Nepal and Tibet affected by devastating flash flooding. Protect those who remain in danger, comfort those who grieve, strengthen first responders and aid workers, and guide leaders as they coordinate relief efforts.

Surround our companions and partners with your presence and peace. In the midst of uncertainty and loss, sustain hope, courage, and resilience through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

🎶 Welcome, Ethan Williams! 🎶

We're excited to introduce Ethan Williams, our new Director of Children & Youth Music! Ethan brings a passion for helping children experience joy, community, and faith through music. He is excited to bring a variety of musical styles and creativity into our worship and music ministry.

Ethan is entering his third year as a general music teacher at Brooklyn Center Elementary and as a member of the National Lutheran Choir. Outside of music and working with young people, he enjoys spending time with his partner and their two cats, Gnocchi and Jola, birding, and reading.
