Tarbiya Institute

Tarbiya Institute An educational non-profit aiming to empower generations of American Muslims through Islamic knowledge

is a linguistic derivative of the word Rabb, or Lord, and it denotes a comprehensive process of personal progress, whereby an individual grows spiritually, intellectually and socially to achieve a godly life. In the context of Islamic work, it’s about helping individuals acquire the needed skills and knowledge base through a structured educational process to achieve harmony between their

divine obligations and worldly responsibilities. For that, programs are devised, including mentor-ship, regular halaqas, ongoing activities, volunteer opportunities, leadership training, classes, camps and much more. This is the purpose of the Tarbiya Institute as we envision it. At Tarbiya Institute, we strive to cater to the needs of the family by paying attention to the needs of its building blocks.

Alhamdulillah, our Soul Sisters from all three Tarbiya locations came together for a beautiful day of faith, fellowship, and fun at our Soul Sisters Lake Retreat!

With Unity as our theme, sisters had the opportunity to connect and get to know one another while enjoying a delicious potluck, time by the water, plenty of laughter, and even a piñata! One of the most meaningful moments of the day was coming together to pray Dhuhr in congregation, a beautiful reminder of the faith that connects us.

The retreat was filled with new connections, shared memories, laughter, and the joy of simply being together. May Allah continue to strengthen the bonds between our sisters and allow Soul Sisters to be a community where women can grow in faith, friendship, and sisterhood. Ameen.

Happy Jumaa!

When we feel surrounded by hardship, what is our first instinct? To see it as a dead end and be paralyzed by it or to see it as an opportunity waiting to be seized? How can we learn to see our hardships through the optimism of Rasulullah SAW? How can we turn moments of despair into moments of purpose? Join us this Jumaa to learn more.

Join us tonight at 7:00 PM at Tarbiya House Roseville as we collaborate with GSM-PAC for an exciting upcoming event, The Written Word. This event will feature journalism professionals engaging with the Tarbiya community for an evening of thoughtful discussion, meaningful dialogue, and connection. In celebration of 150 years of journalism, we will hear from representatives of The Sacramento Bee about the role of journalism in our communities, the changing media landscape, and the importance of trustworthy, independent reporting. The conversation will also look ahead to the future of The Sacramento Bee and how the organization is evolving. This community conversation is an opportunity to engage, ask questions, exchange perspectives and reflect on how the written word continues to shape our communities. It will be a potluck BBQ, please bring a side dish to share!

Jumaa at Tarbiya House Roseville (10031 Foothills Blvd., Roseville CA 95747) and Tarbiya House Natomas (3780 Rosin Ct Sacramento, CA 95834) will be held all three shifts at 12:15 PM, 1:30 PM, and 3:30 PM. Everything we do at Tarbiya is rooted in a love for Allah SWT and for the one Allah SWT sent as a mercy to the worlds — our beloved Prophet Muhammad (S).

We strive to embody his character, follow his example and seek his guidance in everything we do. In the way we serve, teach, lead, care for one another and build our community, we hope to carry even a small reflection of the beautiful character of Rasulullah (S).

Because ultimately, our greatest hope is not simply to learn about him, speak about him, or send salawat upon him — but to meet him. To drink from his blessed hand at the Hawd, to be among those he recognizes, and to be reunited with him in Jannah, in the company of the righteous.

Today, we come together as a Tarbiya family to send blessings upon the Prophet (S) and his family, to remember his beautiful example, and to renew our commitment to becoming more like him as we grow.

May Allah (SWT) fill our hearts with a deep and lasting love for His Messenger (S), allow his Sunnah to shape our character, and grant us the honor of being in his company in Jannatul Firdaus, ameen
