I was recently in a church that featured a shoebox cross. A friend's husband had made it. What a wonderful way to show what the shoebox ministry is all about.

Please pray for & contribute to this ministry as you can. It makes a difference for children who are in need of the Gospel & basic hygiene items, school supplies, & special gifts that add sparkle to their lives.

Collection Sunday is November 15th.

Sunday, October 25th - No regular church services to be held. Feel free to worship the Lord with His sheep in another pasture. We will have regular services on November 1st. God bless all & keep working on those shoeboxes!

It's that time of year again! Operation Christmas Child is underway at Roper PH Church! We are putting together special boxes of educational supplies, personal hygiene items, toys, & other fun stuff for children around the world. Samaritan's Purse will collect the boxes, adding some Good News & then transporting these boxes to locations where these special gifts are needed most.

The collection date at our church is November 15th.

Jesus told the disciples to "suffer the children to come unto me (Matthew 19:14)." This is our way of enabling them to do just that.

8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. Ephesians 2:8-9

Rev. David Butts brought home this truth about grace. Grace comes through belief & trust in Jesus Christ. We don't earn it.
Grace is something to be leaned on throughout our lives. We can call on God to help us because we have unmerited favor. We are blessed to walk in that grace. We thank God for it!

17 Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: Jeremiah 32:17

This is Jeremiah's prayer, even as he is in prison & buying property at the Lord's bidding. Jeremiah is going through a dark time. The Judahites are going through a dark time, as they are being conquered by the Babylonians. However, Jeremiah is trusting in a sovereign God who can do the impossible.

Brother Edward DeLisle gave us this message, today. The God we serve is not intimidated by what looks impossible to us. He is with us when we don't even realize it. Take hold of that & walk in this truth, this week. This is on on-time word!

The 44th Annual Blood Cancer United (new name for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) Bike-A-Thon/Walk-A-Thon was hosted by Roper Pentecostal Holiness Church on September 19th. It was held in honor of Tommy Marriner, who is one of the founders & chief organizers of this event. About $6,000 has been raised so far to help with the research & treatment of blood cancers & to provide assistance to those suffering from them. We are thankful to support this cause, to be God's hands & feet to help the instruments of healing learn more & those who need healing to have assistance during their journey.

"The Day After," by Ray Faircloth, Sr.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:13-14

Brother Ray took our attention back to 9-11-2001 & expressed the thought that "the day after" has been ongoing since 9-12-2001. The elevated concern for others & the increased prayers for our nation have waned since that time. COVID has emptied our churches.

The church needs to step up to help pull from the fire many a lost soul. There needs to be a coming together for prayer in our communities. We need to exhibit forgiveness as Jesus did in order to show others how it's done. He did before He taught (Acts 1:1).
We need to be relevant & to not need another national tragedy to stop us & shake us up so that we become attentive to God's plan for us. We need to wake up!

One of the churches in our community, Roper Baptist Church, is having a service on Friday night, September 11th, at 6:00 p.m. Melanie Edwards will be there speaking of her work & what God is doing through her in Myanmar. Please attend if you are able.
