Our church family is welcoming John Colbert, our new Youth Minister, with a cookout in the Fellowship Hall this Saturday, June 27 at 6:00 PM.

Come share a meal, share a story, and help us welcome John and his fiancée Makayla to Zion's Chapel ahead of his official start in August.

📖 Thursday Encouragement

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28

Notice that Jesus didn't say "come to me after you've got it together." He didn't say "come once you're rested, once you're strong, once the weight is lighter."
He said: come weary. Come burdened. Come carrying what you're carrying.

The invitation isn't for the people who have it figured out. It's for the people who don't. That's most of us, on most days.

His invitation still stands. Come.

📖 Thursday Encouragement

"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you." Psalm 56:3

Eleven words. The whole verse. And maybe the most honest sentence in scripture.
Notice what David doesn't say. He doesn't say "I am never afraid." He doesn't pretend to faith he doesn't have. He says simply: when fear comes, and it will come, I turn toward God instead of away.

Fear isn't the absence of faith. Trust in the middle of fear is what faith looks like.
Whatever is making you afraid this Thursday, bring it to Him. He can carry it.
