Ministry leader, when you see somebody hurting, are you too busy to take time out of your day?

Empathy for a ministry leader is simply being able to visualize yourself in someone else's position. I believe Jesus took it even further.

Whenever Jesus encountered someone who was hurting or in need of encouragement, He STOPPED, He LOOKED at them and had COMPASSION for them. Then, He ACTED.

Jesus showed empathy numerous times in scripture.

He weeped with Mary and Martha at Lazarus's, tomb. (John 11:28-44)

Jesus heals a crippled woman on the Sabbath day. (Luke 13: 10-17)

Jesus resurrected the widow's son at Nain.
Jesus saw her grieving, in his heart overflowed with compassion. (Luke13:10-17)

A minister leader should see people through the eyes of Jesus.

We may not be able to fix somebody's problems. But we can STOP, LOOK, LISTEN, and have COMPASSION and UNDERSTANDING for what they are going through .

We read in Colossians 3:12 to clothe ourselves with humility, compassion, kindness, gentleness and patience.

Just like we get to choose what we wear each day, we must INTENTIONALLY CHOOSE the attitude that we carry into every conversation, relationship, and situation.

Humility means being willing to listen instead of always needing to be right.
It means serving instead of being served and seeking recognition.
It means admitting when we're wrong and giving God the glory instead of taking the credit for ourself.

As leaders we're called to lead like Jesus,with a heart that serves others and a life that points people to Him.

Ask yourself:
•Am I listening to understand or waiting to respond?
•Am I seeking to serve or to be recognized?
•Does my attitude reflect the heart of Jesus?

Walk humbly. Love genuinely. Lead like Jesus.

Put on humility today and let your life make a Lasting Impact!

When you look at it from the world's perspective trials don't seem very joyful!

But we are not, "of the world."

If Jesus and the disciples faced trials and persecution we should expect to have them too!

With our eyes on Jesus, we can be full of joy in the midst of suffering.

We have "a hope" that we should be sharing with the hurting world.
