There is a deep hunger in the depths of our humanity for the miraculous, a desire to see the power of God with our own eyes. Each Sunday, we experience a true miracle through the celebration of Mass. The real presence of Christ and our reception of his Body and Blood in sacramental communion is the center of our faith. Everything else is secondary.

In the Gospel of John, chapter 6, the crowd asks Jesus to show them a miracle so that they may believe. In response, Jesus offers them the bread of life — his very body and blood as the food and drink that lead to eternal life.

Today, on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, we are given a special opportunity to focus our attention on this “miracle of miracles.” It is a profound opportunity to give public witness and honor to the unfathomable generosity of God, who gives himself completely to us: body, blood, soul and divinity. May the Eucharist as the Sacrament of Charity inflame our hearts with love for God and one another.

Today's Solemnity celebrates Jesus as truly present with us in the Eucharist.

In the breaking of the bread, we are nourished, united, and sent forth in love. May we receive Him with reverence and carry His presence into the world through acts of charity and mercy.

St. Agnes served 233 meals to the less fortunate on a rainy Saturday morning. St. Mary's food kitchen was brightened with plenty of smiles and good food. Thank you to everyone that had a hand in such a wonderful morning! We can always use volunteers to help get the food ready, to serve the meal, and clean-up. Bring a friend or neighbor! Students at least 12 years old, high school, & college students are welcome. The next date is Tuesday, June 30th. Look for the sign up on the STA website, under the Parish Life tab, a couple of weeks before. Also, the sloppy joe recipe is there along with other helpful information. Every batch of sloppy joes that is cooked adds up to our parish being able to serve so many hungry people. With children out of school for the summer the need becomes even greater.
