ROI: 3rd Quarter 2026

Our world focuses heavily on return on investment (ROI). At Global Baptist Training Foundation, we focus on eternal ROI - especially the ROI from training nationals to train nationals. Here is the third quarter report, 2026!

With only about 1,500 of our 2,300 church plants reporting, from July through September, 29,809 people came to faith in Christ. A good percentage of those were also baptized and a greater percentage will be baptized in upcoming days. We rejoice in this eternal ROI that can only be achieved through trained nationals!

Other points of interest:
-We have just funded training in Myanmar. After ten years of intensive training there, a civil war made it difficult and dangerous to continue. Now trained nationals will carry on the training.
-We will do a survey trip to another Southeast Asian nation in January with the goal of expanding there in 2027. Look for updates.
-Over half the funds needed to purchase 23 motorcycles (about $2300 each) for national trainers has been donated. We will continue to raise funding for this vital transportation need to see results like those above continue to grow exponentially!

-Training classes took place in virtually every country in the third quarter. We will share many of those in upcoming days!
-We leave for Rwanda this Thursday morning for trainer training and evangelistic outreach with a small team from Melbourne, Florida. Updates to come from this trip.

Finally, more and more pastors and church leaders continue to graduate. This focus is on Kyela, Tanzania, graduation in the words of GBTF African Director, Fidele SHINGA!

Two and a half years ago GBTF started classes in that small city, where Tanzanians and Malawians do great businesses between the two countries because of the borders.

42 Students graduated today on 24th. October. 2026. Men were 40 and 2 women. The graduation ceremony started at around 10am and ended at 12:30pm.

Men were very excited about the graduation ceremony. Happy to see themselves graduating. Two and half years in class.

To God be all the glory. There was the Southern Africa Region Director Rev. Brasswell NKHONJERA. MWAKALUKWA Atupele the GBTF Coordinator in that area of KYELA. Government Representative as well as a member of Parliament who was very excited and in his speech promised to stand with GBTF in one way or another.

And I Fidèle SHINGA Global Baptist Training Foundation Africa Director.

Thanks to our President Dr. SNAVELY Bruce. The man that God gave this mandate for Africa. Great Vision of training nationals who will continue to train others. His wife Grace, a woman of Grace and Faith who has been standing by her husband since this burden was placed in their hearts. Our leaders, teachers, mentors and not only that but also our parents in the Lord. GOD bless you for your sacrifices for us to be able to do what we do in Africa.

The People of GBTF: the Motorcycle Gang

We have well over 200 national trainers now. These trainers are busy taking the GBTF training they have received to thousands of other national pastors and church leaders in 36 countries.

One way we try to equip these trainers, as well as some GBTF church planters, is to provide the equipment they need to be successful. This includes projectors, phones, and, yes, motorcycles. These motorcycles revolutionize the ability of a national trainer to expand his teaching region. Right now, we have requests for 23 motorcycles. We pay an average of $2300 for each motorcycle that will facilitate classes for years to come! Let us know if you’d to have a part in providing motorcycles to one or more trainer(s)!

The Global Baptist Training Foundation (GBTF) in Rwanda is conducting a Biblical Evangelism training class in Karongi District, located in the southern part of the Western Province of Rwanda.
On the first day, 49 students attended the training. Although the heavy rain affected attendance, the students who participated were happy and excited about the lessons. Their positive response encourages us to continue teaching and equipping them with biblical knowledge and practical skills for evangelism.

We hope that more students will attend the following day as the training continues. We thank God for His faithfulness and for the work of GBTF in Rwanda. We pray that this training will strengthen the participants spiritually and equip them all.

Nationals Training Nationals

Intentional Multiplication! 🌎

The results of training nationals to train nationals speak for themselves. Tens of thousands of national pastors and church leaders trained with college-level theological training, thousands of new churches started in areas where no gospel witness existed, hundreds of thousands of people coming to faith in Christ and then being baptized and grounded in Biblical knowledge!

Here are just some of the great events in the past month!!!🎉

Tanzania
Brasswell Nkhonjera, GBTF Trainer and South African Director, taught the book of Acts in Kyela, Southern Tanzania, in mid-September. 47 students completed the course in Acts as their final course before their graduation in October 2026. Brasswell said, "GBTF in our region is flourishing. From 10-14 August, 2026, Kennedy Mkala was teaching at our Kyela branch in Southern Tanzania. He taught Pastoral Leadership and Church Administration.'" These are the pictures of the class. 50 students attended the class.

Despite multiple challenges like sickness, poverty, and religious opposition, 22 graduates persevered and completed all 16 courses in the Global Baptist Training Foundation curriculum! GBTF East Africa Director, Naboth Atusasire, traveled to Masasim, Tanzania to conduct the graduation ceremony, give a charge to the graduates. and personally congratulate the newest member of the GBTF family! This is a different location than the classes above - most countries have multiple GBTF training sites!

Uganda
In what was the final class for many before an October 2026 graduation, a large group of pastors and church leaders completed a course in Eschatology (the study of last things) under the instruction of Ntare Rogers, GBTF Trainer and African IT Director.

Burundi
GBTF Trainer, Ferdinand Nduwimana, recently taught Biblology, Christology, Anthropology, and Biblical Evangelism in Muhanga, Northern Burundi. It is not unusual for multiple classes to be offered in a 10 day period because of the long distances pastors and church leaders travel to get to a teaching site. This training includes 43 who successfully completed the course requirements for each course.

Ghana
James Togba, GBTF Trainer and West African Director, conducted a class in Ghana. Over 40 students successfully completed the course in Bibliology, Christology, and Anthropology.

Zimbabwe
GBTF African Continent Director, Fidele Shinga, who travels further and more than any other Global Baptist Training Foundation trainer, just completed a course in Christian Apologetics in Zimbabwe. He said that the dry season prohibited many from attending this course who had been several previous courses. Fidele is now teaching in Mozambique, and we look for updates from that class soon!

West Africa Training

Bruce has just returned from a great trip to Liberia, West Africa, where he held training for GBTF trainers, church planters, and country coordinators from all over West Africa. We are thankful for our son-in-law, Lex Chotai, who was part of this training week. Lex leaves his growing and thriving business to commit himself to the cause of GBTF. Pastor James Togba, GBTF West Africa Director, planned and executed an amazing class. The topic for this class was a brand new course on Leadership and Time Management. It was well received by the 83 who attended and completed this course.

We are thrilled that in Liberia, over 600 churches have been planted through GBTF-trained pastors. The original goal of 500 has been surpassed and continues to grow. We had ten of our trainers in attendance for this new modular class. They will continue to study and prepare to take this class to thousands more throughout Western Africa.
